Sorry to disappoint, but no. I actually never had a SNES growing up so I missed out on a lot of SNES games.

But it would be a travesty if you never played Mario RPG. I'm sure you have a wii you can DL it on there.

I must've missed the part where more strategy meant more fun? Again I will bring up my NFL Head Coach reference. That game is nothing but strategy. It must be the greatest game ever made according to your logic? Maybe Front Office Baseball (or whatever it's called) is? Those types of games bore the ever loving shit out of me.
I do not like turn based games at all and there is nothing anyone here is going to convince me of otherwise.
Just because you think it's stupid of me to hate a game like Final Fantasy doesn't mean it is. I think those games are absolutely horrible.
For instance, the free GBA games were just released for the 3DS Ambassadors the other day. I like every one except one. You want to guess which one? Fire Emblem. Even though I never played it originally I thought I remember hearing it was a JRPG. I fired it up and after about 20 minutes I wanted to permanently delete it. Nothing but talking and turn based battles. Next!
At least this game has the South Park humor going for it. One of the classes is Jew? That's hilarious. But I will never be able to get passed the turn based battles. Ever.
But hey, its not your cup of tea, I can respect that.
In all seriousness, try out jade empire, its made by Bioware. It was the game that was made in between KoToR and Mass Effect, it might be up your alley.Comment

Man, I feel sorry for you. The countless hours I poured into ff7 and ff8, the hours in fire emblem, hell, my favorite game of all time that I must have a minimum of 1-1.5k hours in is a jrpgs.

Ok, I'll look into. I do know that I tried playing the first KOTOR and hated it. I despised the fact that I pressed a button and my character just did some combo attack by himself. It was really turn based but I felt I had no control over what was going on. I just remember thinking "WTF is this shit? This game could be so cool if I could go around fucking dudes up with my light saber instead of just watching the CPU do it for me."
Action RPG. I don't recall ever pausing the game to choose an ability. You do, do a lot of talking in the game, so there is a lot of old rpg standards in the game. Its been called a beat em up by several different reviewers.
The CPU doesn't do much for you, its entirely possible to not get some abilities and still progress through the game just fine.Comment

I don't mind talking and I enjoy a good story, it's just that turn based battles totally take me out of a game. And it seems that JRPG's, especially the older ones, are the most egregious with their standard talk, talk, talk, turn based battle, talk, talk talk formula that I couldn't give two shits about.Comment

I'm with Twigg on this.
Even if killgod wants to point out the "illusion" that is the dice rolls..I'd still rather have the illusion as it's sure as hell more entertaining(to me)Comment
