Hard to get excited until I know it will be available.
Quick update... this is looking like a big negative...

"IGN: Will there be any further EA Sports games on the PC?

    Peter Moore:
We're doing two this year – we're doing FIFA and we're doing NHL. For business reasons they're very viable. FIFA in particular, because it's a strong business – and console penetration where soccer is powerful – which of course, is everywhere – is weak sometimes, and people have PCs. I can go to my dev team and I can look at the numbers and say it's worth investing millions of dollars to create the PC version of FIFA. Same with NHL, particularly if you're pushing into Eastern Europe and into Russia where we're doing a lot of investment with our hockey franchise. But there are others where we're just losing money. And I reserve the right not to lose money. And my team – as you know, in any job if you do well you get more compensation. It's a difficult conversation to have – am I going to go develop for the PC where, by the way, we're going to lose money and not make a bonus. How do you think about that? It's not fair to these guys. And piracy's an issue – there's not enough sales to justify it, and we do just about every other platform. If you want console, you want your DS, your Wii experience – which takes a team now because you need a brand new Wii experience – eventually you run out of resources and you say we're just not selling enough on the PC and you make a very hard business decision. And then you have this very unique conversation going on now on the blog. I'm trying to think if this has ever happened in our industry where I state my case. It's entertaining and people want me dead, or hung, drawn and quartered."

Agreed. I am really not happy with the news. Madden PC always has some hope due to third party development. Our hope hinges purely on the NextGen console product now, which can't be fixed.

          * Per Donny Moore; the Elusiveness rating has received a major overhaul for non-ball carrying positions, especially defensive players. This means that quick players who aren't especially experienced carrying the ball, such as CB, will not be nearly as good at duck under/slippery moves (left right twitchiness, that's agility, or juke, that's juke) wont feel like Barry Sanders anymore. Furthermore, the elusiveness rating across the board has been tuned down to better emphasize the true tackle breakers and reduce the dominance of high-speed runners.

I almost hate saying this, but I'm really pumped about 2010. I'm actually thinking about skipping NCAA altogether and just going with Madden. And after the previous two Madden disasters, which to me, have been two of the worst football games I've ever played, considering 2010 as a must purchase was unthinkable. However, 2010, really does seem like a must purchase.

Thanks for bringing this info over, Adem.

Can someone tell me what an online dynasty/franchise is? I keep hearing about it, and it being great, and how it should be in Madden 2010.

While it was more fun than the dreaded Madden, it still came with too many flaws. The defense is ridiculousy bad. I play dynasty mode, so the whole online deal isn't a selling point for me. I haven't really seen enough new info about NCAA, that gives me the impression it's changing all that much. If the CPU is even close to be anything like '09, I don't want it.

I thought about the whole online league thing, but you have to worry about people exposing certain things, and even in a lot of the so called sim leagues, people are caught cheating with recruiting, which is laughable, that people actually do that. So, there's an 80% chance I'll be skipping NCAA this time around. It'll be a rental, for the draft classes, though.

Actually, it might be. I didn't track it down myself, someone posted it on OS.

That's what I get for not doing my own research. I'll see if I can figure it out. I seem to remember it now, though.

EDIT: You are correct, sir, this is from 2009. Hope remains for 2010 PC, however slim. I do have confirmation, however, that there'll be a PS2 version from Mr. Frazier.

It's exactly how it sounds; 32 teams with users at the helm play a full franchise online. You do the draft, free agency, etc., then play your games all with your opponents through the internet.

NCAA started that this year and it was a huge success, so hopefully Madden does bring it over and has similar results.
