The only packs I've ever bought for any racing games were for Burnout Paradise and NFS. They came with new cars AND events and I only bought them when they were on sale. I don't care how much I like a racing game, and I like this one a lot, zero chance I will pay for just cars or full price for some tracks.

I'm pretty much addicted to this game. I think I have at least twelve hours of play time, I almost have the purple wrist band and I have $3.5mil. The game looks and sounds amazing. I also love the soundtrack.
I need to buy some cars. Any suggestions?

there is not a real need to purchase cars only a desire too. I bought as much as I could...no need to save up your money. I just didnt buy the ultra expensive cars.
You can get cheap Lambos, Ferraris, or other supercars that are awesome when upgrades.
My personal favorite to drive is the Nissan GTR...although a bit heavier then most supercars. It is AWD therefore very easy to handle.
The Audi R8 is probably another decent car.Comment

Any tips on those PR skill challenges at the outposts? The few I've completed I just seemed to get lucky. What's the best way to rack up quick points? Just passing cars closely and drifting isn't cutting it when you need 20k points in two minutes.

They are stupid. But I think I want to think I want to try to 100% this game, although it's not like you van differentiate the standard cheevos with the DLC ones. One of the main reasons trophies>cheevos.
I did end up spending about $3mil on a bunch of cars and now I have the purple bracelet.

When I stopped having fun with it, I stopped playing the single player. There is no need to do all the xtra bs.Comment

Ok, I've done everything there is to do in the single player in this game except for the PR stunts. I got all the discount signs and barn finds and did all of the races, including Ali's street races. Now I'm just playing some online hopefully to reach level 25 and get my 25 online races cheevos.

Annnnnnd, I just unlocked the cheevo for 25 online races. Now I just need five more levels to hit 25 and I think I'll officially retire this game.

I finally hit level 25 and, barring any race nights, I'm done with this game. I think I put about 30hrs into it and really enjoyed it but the online is pretty shitty. Cars bounce around and will slam into walls but somehow be right back on the track in a split second, where as if I crash it will take the realistic several seconds to right myself. It's crazy too considering this is an Xbox game and Live never has any issues, ever.

It's not XBL, it's those people having shitty internet. And the crashing and somehow being back on the track right away is b/c of their shitty connection. I saw it in EVERY race. But yet I can play Battlefield 3 on PS3 without a hint of lag. Just saying.
