        I played 1001 Spikes for 3 hours and change w/o breaking my controller in a fit of homicidal rage.

        If Mega Man/BattleToads/and TMNT for the NES got into a fight w/ this game... they might lose.

          Man, get Mega Man out of there. It has no business in the same difficulty breath as Battletoads.

          I haven't given this a go yet. How does it compare to Super Meat Boy? I'm only really interested if the control is perfect.

            Depends on your definition of "Nintendo Hard."

            We both know that Battletoads cannot be beaten unless you use a Game Genie but some revere Mega Man if they haven't played it for hours on end...

            <= Like this guy

            ...As for comparisons to other games such as Super Meat Boy?

            The game's a basic "memorize the level and hope for the best" type of ordeal.

            And the controls?

            You might feel that the game is boning you when you think you've got the timing down but you don't.

            The CPU's always in-the-right, is unfair and doesn't care if you think the game's "hard" because you have 1,002 lives to spend until the end of the story.

            You don't even get that much w/ the Contra Code.

            I'd recommend it personally but I'm the type that is self-loathing when it comes to gaming... I want a challenge but I hate being spoon-fed stuff.

            TL;DR - Go buy it if you like hard games.

              Bought it...fun enough, but no Super Meat Boy. It's too stringent on the weirdo puzzle mechanic. Still, a fun game though. Thanks for the (quasi) recommendation.

              Talk of Mega Man makes me want to bring back my list. I promise that I won't.

                The wife and I ran through Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel over the weekend. That game was/is fun as hell. She wasn't in the mood for Borderlands or Diablo 3 so I suggested it to her because I've been wanting to play it for a while. Once we started playing we were hooked.

                I think we're going to play through again on Insane and try to go for the platinum.

                  Watch_Dogs is in the books. While it wasn't the definitive next-gen experience that everyone was hoping for, it was still very enjoyable. I really liked how they mashed together a ton of different types of games. I wouldn't be opposed to another adventure with Aiden. Loved Jordi, btw. My favorite character in the game.

                    I finally finished Wolfenstein on 'I Am Death Incarnate' difficulty. What a lengthy and great game. There were some real pain in the ass spots, especially the final boss, on that difficulty. I only have three upgrades to unlock.

                    I'm not sure I have the patience to try and beat even just the last level on Uber.

                        Finished Contrast.... It was an enjoyable 2-3 hr puzzle gm. Had a glitch issue at the very end though. Ended up having to delete and re-download for game ending.

                            There's no multiplayer, just single player campaign.

                              Finished the Fergus storyline of Wolfenstein: The New Order tonight...

                              Part One

                              Part Two

                              ...I gotta say that the final 6 chapters breezed by real fast once I got going.

                              And that ending sequence?

                              They didn't miss a bit to remind you;

                              ...especially me after I got numb to all the ultra-violence going on around me...

                              That there are certain parts that are TOO fucked up in the game.

                              Straight up Horror Movie shit.

                                I forget which guy I decided to save. I think it was the other one. I started up the game again the other day to try to save the Ferg and get the other trophy and the game crashed about ten minutes before that part. In doing so it didn't save my progress through the levl so I will have to start from the beginning again. Bah!
