Just beat Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD. Woo. I'm embarrassed that this is one series I've never played before (outside of about 1/3 of Metal Gear Rising), and man have I missed out. What a fucking awesome game. Absolutely ridiculous story, especially towards the end, but I still loved it. Pretty pumped to jump into MGS3 soon.

I've heard a few good things but I didn't have time to sit through the Quick Look that GiantBomb did.

Since you've beaten the game, how is it?

It is an action RPG and thats all it does. Click, point, mana up, health up...ect. It does offer some unique things as there is a ton of skill trees, perks, and trick. There is alot to do and 1 play through wont get near powering up everything. I mostly played as a Tank with a sword. I didnt use guns much. Again one of the things that makes this game interesting is the many many ways you can customize your character build. You do have a companion that you level up and build as well. She is very snarky and quite helpful and you can use here in 3 different ways, support, attack, or range attack. If you like Loot then you will like this game...there is a TON of it and you can enchant stuff, forge stuff, attach essence, make custom essence...just crazy. For a $15 game it has quite alot. Where it kind of falls down is the story is forgettable and the voice acting is corny. I enjoyed my time I love constantly customizing my character to make him stronger and more efficient. Don't worry about gold or buying items...I had over 1.6M by the end of the game. There is some end game scenarios after you beat the game where you can farm for more loot. It can be played online coop as well.

The Witcher is officially beaten. It's a shame I put off finishing it for almost a year, but I'm glad I finally took care of it. Good story, but the combat got stale about halfway though. If you have a capable PC and like games like The Elder Scrolls, you should definitely pick this up and give it a try.

I really wish I had finished the first before the second. I am trying to go back to the first now, and it so pales in comparison to the second in almost every way that I find it hard to get into. The voice acting in particular is pretty hard to deal with. It's still a very great game, but I just find myself constantly wanting to boot up the sequel as I play it.

As I picked myself up for the 50th, I knew this was going to be the attempt that was going to end with myself tasting victory. I took the step into the white abyss and on the other-side came face to face with the gargoyle that bested me 50 times over. I ran at him, sword in hand, and rolled past his initial attacks and managed to get behind him and rid the beast of his tail. The wounded gargoyle sensed his defeat and in a last ditch effort called upon his friend and brought the wrath of fire upon me. In a move of desperation I lifted my shield and stood my ground in a blaze of glory. I took a few more swipes and down went gargoyle number one. With victory within my grasp, I turned to face the second one. His fire came roaring, but with a shield in one hand and a longsword in the other, he stood no chance. I cut off his head, watched as it fell down to the ground, ashes dissolving into the air and disappearing like tears in a rainstorm. I had won. I had become conqueror of the rooftop. There is little time to celebrate, for my path is only just beginning, the end is not in sight and I must move forward and prepare to fight the impossible.

                  Dark Souls in a nutshell.

It took a month but I finally beat those mother fucking gargoyles.

                    Great post.

These are the gargoyles that forced Dark Souls into my backlog.

Nice post. I don't know how to break this to you though, but, the Gargoyles are pretty easy in the grand scheme of things. Have you experienced the delight that is the Capra Demon and his two asshole dogs? That was a fun one. I found that the Drake Sword really made the Gargoyle battle not too bad. Tell me you have that? Also, you needed to cut the tail off! You get what I consider to be a pretty underrated Axe from it.

Got my first platinum trophy today from playing through Okami a second time. One of the most under appreciated games of all time also a personal favorite.

It took about a combined 50 hours and two playthroughs, but it was well worth it and so rewarding to see.

Have you ever played the Sly games? The HD PS2 games are 3-in-1 and thus come with 3 Platinums, none of which are that difficult. Just from one whore to another.
