I don't understand how a boxed set is a cash grab still, but even that being said, unless you're Twigg and on your weirdo righteous campaign against game companies. Who cares? Bioware is releasing a boxed set. That might be to make some more money, but I think there is a difference between that and a "cash grab" that people should actually be mad about.

doesnt it bother you that they are basically giving all the dlc for the PC version, but making you pay for it on the 360 and more than likely on the ps3?

i dont understand the difference between this box set and any example of a box set people should be mad about. If you could give an example of a cash grab you feel is something to be mad about then i can answer that a bit better.

my opinion is based around the continuous stream of bad development by these companies. its not bioware/ea...it all of them. its all about sequels and DLC now. these box sets are just another example of how gaming companies want to make money off of us by not doing anything original. as gamers, we are getting screwed by this trend...it why we get the same version of madden every year and the same complaints along with it. but people keep spending their money because its just good enough to get by. this trend has been growing and growing for years and as long as we keep feeding it, they will keep doing it. and we suffer with repetitive games and no new IP's

No, it doesn't bother me, because I own all of that stuff.

And spare me the "they are trying to screw us" when this is DLC we're talking about, and further, don't you pirate games? I don't think you're in any position to feel like you're being slighted, or to worry for others being slighted.

Still, all of that being said, it's still not anymore of a cash grab than anything else. Sure, it'd be great if everyone just made great new IPs and creativity was supported through and through. But that is never going to happen. Particularly in the face of modern piracy.

i gave my opinion and made my point. if you dont see, or are not willing to at least acknowledge my point then there is no reason for me to continue having this discussion with you

it seems like you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. it also seems like you feel this box set is ok because its mass effect and you just want to defend mass effect. im not interested in arguing with you.

I don't think either of those points are true. I just don't think that box sets are cash grabs any more than anything is a cash grab, and I can equal parts understand why DLC exists and is sometimes withheld because of pirating. This being about ME is neither here nor there. Are you going to rail against the Doom set that will be released? Or did you rail against the Jak series release? Or the Sly? Or the Ratchet? You're arguing this drop in creativity because of the existence of these collections, which is stupid. The lack of creativity exists in large part or in most part because of piracy. I am not interested in arguing for the sake of arguing, I just don't think you've made a single good point outside of your initial irritation.

That is ridiculous. So much for me buying this shit.

Wait, what? I'm not sure how thinking that arcade games being $5 and $10 too much is some "righteous campaign against game companies"? The bottom line is that ever since Bioware partnered with EA they seem to have been going downhill. Apparently Dragon Age 2 was a mess of epic proportions and rushed to retail, aka total cash grab. ME3's ending was an apparent debacle. Now they are selling this alleged all inclusive trilogy but are still making consumers pay for the DLC? Really? Now I know why both of the doctors left the company. They're sick of the bullshit.

I was honestly interested in picking this trilogy up at some point but now that I know I'm still not getting the whole experience they can fuck off.

It's only two DLC missions for the first game, not at all something to be worried about, and they aren't memorable missions in the slightest- this is 2008 DLC we are talking about here. They could even be in the PS3 package, making a decision much easier.

                    ME1 on PS3:

some things (including, but not limited to: texture popping, overall performance) are improved on the PS3
well, "new coat of paint" isn't quite fair. But "remake" implies way more. It's... a port. ME1 engine with ME2 PS3 touch-ups
"We're trying to retain the classic experience, but make some targeted fixes"
"it doesn't have ME3-style combat. It plays like the classic ME1"
Will ME1 on 360 get the performance upgrades or is that going to be exclusive to PS3?

nope, the improvements are specific to the PS3 hardware.

What about the last DLC for ME2 that wasn't included on the original PS3 release? Or the pretty significant "DLC" that only people who bought the CE of ME3 got or paid the extra $10?

The last DLC for ME2 was release two months after the PS3 version hit the shelves.

As for the ME3 DLC, it would have been nice if it was included in the game, but it doesn't change the tone of the game much if you don't have it.

I know, which makes no sense why it isn't included in this package.

I keep hearing that the character, a prothean (?), you get in the ME3 DLC is pretty significant to the story.

The PS3 set and ME1 download will release on December 4th. For the PS3 versions, ME1 will include Bring Down the Sky (no mention of Pinnacle Station), and ME2 will have the same DLC as the retail version (i.e. all story DLC except Arrival). ME3 won't have additional DLC included either.

The DLC included for PC/360 remains the same as previously stated except the PC version is supposed to come with Pinnacle Station included for free per the linked blog post. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or if EA will make it free on Origin next week.

I'll want to say I'll just DL ME1 on December the 4th and be done with it.

Hopefully they'll include some patch that'll port over my decisions from 1 over to 2.

If not, I still have 2 and 3 and no fucks will be given as I still have almost all the DLC for those two games anyway.
