Good week for the WiiU, both Frostbite 3 and Unreal 4 engines wont be coming to the console. We all know how many studios use Unreal and EA has stated that most, if not all of their studios will be using Frostbite moving forward (DA3 and ME4 specifically talked about as well).

Wii U: under 40,000 consoles sold across America in April – rumour
Nintendo’s Wii U sale woes could be continuing, according to a batch of allegedly leaked NPD sales figures currently doing the rounds. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has suggested that the numbers are mostly accurate. If true, then only 38,000 Wii U consoles were sold across North America in April.Comment

The PS4 and Xbone will actually have games releasing on it though. That's Nintendo's biggest problem (that and their marketing blows), is that they released this thing with their heavy first-party hitters still 1+ year way after it's launch.Comment

well there are 3 scenarios...
- Everyone is saving up for a new xbox or ps4 (doubtful that most people even know about these systems)
- People don't have money for a new console.
- The WiiU is uninteresting to all those 100M Wii owners.
I think 2 is the leader followed by 3. I think this is a super price sensitive market. If these future consoles are too expensive they wont sell. I see a $199 and 2 year sub model for sure.Comment

1. Horrible marketing - those soccer moms with Wii's had no idea what this console was, or the fact that it was actually a new console.
2. No games - nobody wants to buy a new system just to play already released games that we've played on other consoles, plus Nintendo's big first-party games are nowhere to be seen.
3. It's current-gen technology at the tail end of the current-gen.Comment
