I would rather have a 3DS or 3DS XL.
It is going to be hard to resist the urge to not buy the 3DS from Target tomorrow. Want to play New Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario Land.Comment

get an emulator, I just did for the DS and enjoy it so far, but it is a pain in the ass playing games like Mario Bros unless you have a controller, using a keyboard is full of fail hahaComment

Long install times can't save you from bricking your console, though. - Nintendo's brave, if not untimely, jump into the online space with Wii U has had a few teething problems. One of which is the reportedly long wait that owners...click for more
honestly though I think that this console could be amazing, it just really pines on how strong the lineup is with the newfound 3rd party support.
Although coming out of the gate, it's very weak. I might pick up zombiU or some other wii u console game soon. There's like 5 DLC games available (including Trine 2 dX)* Chrispy logs into KGs account to see what misogi wrote* [05:53 PM]Comment

I picked up some games thanks to Target's B2G1F deal. Got ZombiU, NintendoLand, New super mario bros wii u, and then i got sega all stars racing transformed.
Mario is mario, which is to say it's the same platforming game you usually get used to and love. The squirrel suit is amazing. You can play one-player by yourself on the gamepad, but if you try to play 2 players, you MUST use two wii motes. What the shit?
I haven't played much of ZombiU, but what I played seemed to be a bit cumbersome. Sometimes using the gamepad to "scan" the premises is really slow and it takes some getting used to just to check items on the gamepad vs the screen.
Nintendoland is a ton of minigames as you all may have known; only three of them really caught my eye: the Metroid shooter, Animal Crossing minigame, and Mario minigame. In the metroid shooter you pan up and down and try to shoot other ships. In animal crossing, a wii remote user runs around on the main screen and tries to load marbles into bowls, but the more marbles you get the slower you go. The gamepad user controls two people (one person per analog stick) and tries to stop the person. It's pretty much vice versa in the mario one, except just running. the wii mote user runs around looking for the gamepad user, and the wiimote user is assisted by two yoshis that are like search dogs.
The kart game is really fun, and for 2 players, the gamepad user is on the gamepad's screen, and the 2nd player gets the screen to themselves. Much more refreshing than split-screen.
Sorry if it seems like a quick write-up, but I've only played each game for about an hour. If you guys got any questions just let me know and I'll try to answer.* Chrispy logs into KGs account to see what misogi wrote* [05:53 PM]Comment
