And this is about all Sony has said about used games on PS4 so far. No real details yet.

It seems to me that Microsoft can make the claim that the Xbox One "can play used games" as well, but we know there are a lot more finer details that make the proposition a bit more complicated and unappealing. I want to see if Sony is going to have similar fine print.

By striking a deal making them one of the "select retailers" who can accept trade ins.

This. BB hit it right on the head. MS will make retailers pay some sort of fee or % to make them an select retailer. Any mom and pop shops are toast and only the ones with big enough wallets such as GS,BB etc will be able to play this game. You think MS was just making this DRM for publishers? No. they want their cut of the used game market too.

Unfortunately for gamestop, gamefly, etc. but when you business relies on someone else's content stuff like this is bound to happen. Just look at Netflix. They come out with a kickass service everyone wants. The companies producing the content price Netflix right out and offer their own shitty service so they can take the cut and try to put Netflix out of business even if Netflix's service is 100x better at delivering the movies etc.

I'm currently on the fence right now. I had an original xbox and xbox 360 on launch day and I have been looking forward to what the Xbox ONE will bring but not liking alot of things I am hearing. For me where I like xbox over sony is the Xbox dashboard with how much more fluid it is then the ps3 xmb and ps store. Also why most will disagree with me I enjoy multiplayer games more on xbox then ps3 and that is my personal preference and I think it may have alot to do with the fact that I enjoy the xbox controller more then the dualshock controller. At the end of the day tho its all about the games and thats where Sony has Microsoft beaten and its really not even close. Other then Forza and Gears there really isnt an exclusive on Xbox that I care for as I could give a fuck about Halo.

I guess I'll have alot better idea in the coming days

MS already said they WILL NOT BE charging fees for used games...it is up to the publishers.

"Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends. Loaning or renting games won't be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners."

They won't charge fees to the user. Getting that certified retailer status will not be free. Thats how I read it

You have to be oblivious if MS isn't getting some cut. If they weren't getting some $ for this what incentive do they have with blocking used games?
