I have no idea what you're referring to? According to the wiki entry each game features the full suite of mp. I do believe they only "remastered" six maps for Halo 2 Anniversary, but you can still play all of the original maps for that game in classic mode or whatever.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is an upcoming compilation of remastered first-person shooter video games from the Halo series for the Xbox One. It consists of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and their multiplayer modes, complete with their full set of add-on content. All games received graphical upgrades for the release, but Halo 2 received a Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary-style high-definition overhaul. The release will also ship with access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta.

The Master Chief Collection consists of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 (with Halo 2 receiving the Anniversary treatment), replete with their full catalog of extras, including all multiplayer maps and gameplay modes.

All the content is there, but you're restricted to their set playlists for MP, most of which is just Halo 2. Right now there's no way to play just Halo 1 and no playlists specific for Halo 1. So if that's what I want to play, I have to make a private room for it. I was under the impression that each game would have their own exclusive set of playlists for MP, which would have made the most sense. Maybe they'll add a playlist for it, but idk why it wouldn't be there from the start.

The multiplayer playlists for Halo: The Master Chief Collection have to operate across not only different maps and game modes but the games themselves. That seems to have caused some extra issues for the final release, as Halo: Combat Evolved-especific playlists won't be available at launch, while other changes to the existing playlists will exclude some games and maps.

"We are holding on introducing the dedicated Halo: CE playlist. Up until this very day, we’ve been making (and are continuing to make) investments to ensure that Halo: CE’s online/network performance is the best it can be within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and we’re committed to making additional investments to make this happen," the official blog posts stated.

The servers don't work at all for any of the playlists. All this time to polish games that already exist and it's still released incomplete and broken.

All I looked forward to all night at work was getting home and playing this game. I get home and it doesn't even work. So disappointed.

It took a whole minute for my buddies and I to get in the same party. It was frustrating. Once we got it to work, we played Custom Games for 2-3 hours laughing our asses off like the old days. Hope they get this shit working more consistently soon.

It sounds like you might be one of the lucky ones. Over at Gamefaqs everyone is complaining about how they can't play mp.

This is from the Halo Waypoint boards. They are still trying to sort out all of the mp issues.
But Futs isn't having any issues so this post doesn't apply to him and his two friends.

It looks like something is being done to address the MP matchmaking issues-

I have to say that despite how disappointing the launch issues have been, when I do find matches I am straight up geeking out playing this game. This is everything a halo fan like me wants-being able to play on all the original maps while also getting those fresh anniversary maps to play on. Now all they need to do is fix all these server issues...

I honestly can't imagine this stuff not being sorted out in a few days. This will NOT be another DriveClub.

This feels like it must have been rushed out of the door by MS in time for the holiday season. This thing is a sure-fire money maker, it's just a shame that it's such a fucking mess. It was weird when there was like a 22 gig download required even if you have the disc. To AFTER that download, have it so that most people can't even play multiplayer, and even some can't play singleplayer is just inexcusable.

Are all the original music still in the games? When I hear playlist I think of music.

Playlists are maps and modes in multiplayer. So, if you only want to play Team Slayer on certain maps with only rocket launchers, that would be a playlist.
