IMO, with the amount of money EA makes off Madden, it's time to admit the current "engine" can't be repaired.
The only one that could afford it would be FIFA. They are the cash cow. Licensing for NFL is stupid expensive. Then add in NFLPA and broadcast stuff. Mega money.

Its not an engine. Its multiple engines all working together. What is an engine? Basically its just code. The problems happen when you have 3-4-5 different teams over the years trying to code over someone else's code. You are talking millions of lines of code just to find the one stupid little add-in that makes the wind direction appear the wrong way. Pull out the wrong thing... Something breaks majorly.

So after the longwinded stuff, yes they should start over behind the scenes. Hell they may already be doing that for all we know. BUT starting over is what caused the mess that was Madden 06 and no one wants that.

On point A: I'm surprised FIFA licensing isn't that prohibitive.

On point B: Madden 06 was an utter disaster, I agree. But EA still could have done better planning for next-gen this time around, especially considering the fact that everyone knew both consoles would essentially be mid-range PC platforms.

I agree to some extent. Either way its nearly impossible to get a real gameplan in place until you know the exact specs/processors/dedicated RAM you are dealing with.

When I see the stuff NBA2k is doing, it makes me ticked off about Madden. I mean, ratings for body part injuries, really? That's damn impressive and stuff Madden should be able to do.

Yeah I agree but they have a lot less to worry about. Not to mention the issues they have are pretty ridiculous ... Bad enough that I might not get 2K15.

Online is absolute garbage.... VC... Rebounds hitting the floor constantly... My PG dribbling off defenders legs and losing the ball 3 times a game... 3-5 goaltends a game. You know serious fundamental issues that rarely happen in an NBA Game.

My issue with 2k online is that I have to use stick skill. I would prefer to use player shot percentage. That said, NBA2k has never been an online game for me. Strictly offline.

And there is nothing wrong with that. I'm a competitive player (more strategy than the win) so online is VERY important to me.

Until I can play NBA2k with shot percentage vs. stick skill, it will never be an online game for me.

They don't have less to worry about and no issue is more glaring than being able to bump WR's off their route without having anything called. It practically makes Madden unplayable against anyone willing to cheat to win.

Some questions. ..pretty sure I ask this every year.

                            1. Is there a practice mode during the week in franchise. If so does it have any effect on ratings that week.

                            2. In practice mode if applicable can I select "random" for the plays ? Or do I still have to annoyingly select precisely each play for each side of the ball.

                            3. Did they ever bring back fantasy tourney ? The 4-8 team mini tourney where you can fantasy draft from the entire league.

                            4. Is running the ball up the middle actually feasible ? I always had to bump up RunBlk and dumb down tackling sliders for it to be semi realistic.
Best reason to have a license.

Yes, I'd say every type of run play is feasible this year in the right situations. Even running from shotgun is viable, especially when you can get the defense to go into a coverage package. It takes some practice hitting the right gaps and quickly though, gotta get used to using the precision modifier.
