"It's horrible outside," I said, worried. "You sure you have to go back to your apartment?"

"Yeah," she calmly replied. "It'll only be a few minutes; I just forgot something."

I woke up without a sweat, which was weird considering the last few times I woke up from a dream, I was drenched. Then I looked to the right of me to see if it was time to get up, but my clock read 2:35 so I tried to fall back asleep. The rustling must have awaken what was on the other side of me; the beautiful blonde that I swore out of my life nine months ago.

"You alright babe?" Britt asked with her eyes half open. Lately she would come over and stay the night at least three times a week, just to "be there" for me and keep a girl in my life. It really helped, because with Melyssa gone, she also removed my son from my life and that was hurting me more than anything. Without Sean Joseph, I now knew how parents felt when they were always from their children for a long time.

"Yeah," I replied. "Just had a bad dream, that's all."

"Okay good," she whispered with a smile. Then she gave me a kiss on the forehead, wrapped her arms around me and drifted back into sleep.

I started pondering what exactly that dream meant and who was in it. Was it a sign of the future like some of my other dreams? Was the person in it someone I knew already or someone I haven't met yet? Everything just seemed so strange about it and unknown.

"Woy," Coach Marrone yelled. "When you have a moment, come into my office."

After throwing on my Spider-man shirt and some shorts to warm up in, I knocked on the door and Coach motioned me in.

"You wanted to see me Coach?"

"Yeah," he responded. "Sit down, it'll only take a minute."

I slowly sat down in the chair and didn't really await any news; mainly because I didn't know what this little meeting was for.

"Okay. I know how you and Jer have gotten along great ever since I brought him over as the offensive coordinator."

"Yeah, Coach Green and I are chill. Why, what's up?"

"Well he's looking around for a head coaching job in the FCS level. Sounds like Joe Walton of Robert Morris might retire soon and Jeremy is really interested in that job."

"Robert Morris, eh? It's a pretty nice place; my uncle is the head coach for the track team there."

"Cool...anyways, if he does leave - which it isn't set in stone if he will or not - we need to start looking for a replacement. Now I know I'm the head coach and you're thinking that I'll just promote one of the position coaches to the coordinator position, but I want your input. Is there anyone out there that I should look at?"

I thought for a few seconds then the perfect name came to my mind.

"Any chance we can bring my high school coach out here; Coach Waltman?" I asked. "He's a great offensive coach and his system is similar to Coach Green's with the spread attack."

He scratched his chin and thought about the possibility. "Let me get his number and we'll go from there," he said. "I wouldn't want to bring in a coach that has a completely different philosophy than Jeremy but then again, a little quirk could make this offense so explosive. Thanks Ethan, that's all I needed. Go out there and catch some passes from Ryan."

Coach Waltman possibly my new offensive coordinator? It would be a dream come true to play for him again.

More and more it seemed like Coach Marrone was trying desperately to get me that Heisman...not that I had anything against that.
