First observation - Melyssa deserved some sort of punishment for showing up to the damned door in just a robe.

Second observation - The Melyssa-Rebecca thing reminds me of my mom and my stepmom. My mom is a wonderful, gracious person. As such, she harbors no hard feelings. On the other hand, my stepmom's a dumb, apparently petty bitch. Always stepping disrespectful to my mom... She needs to check that attitude, before a certain fifteen year old stepson has to bring-down the hammer.

Third observation - Rebecca's a petty bitch for that stunt. Might have to call-in a hit. Just don't get caught. That way, old homeboy won't be pissed.

Fourth observation - Melyssa's a petty bitch for leaving... All the shit y'all have been through together... And she pregnant with your baby. "Eighteen years, eighteen years. And on the eighteenth birthday he found at it wasn't his."

Fifth observation - Woy best not get drunk and fall apart again.
Option A - Grieve for a lil while, let the dumb bitch come to her senses and bring your baby back.

"It's Melyssa, I can't answer my phone right now so leave a message."

After hearing the same words five more times, I shut off my phone and threw it in the back seat of my car. Then I did uncharacteristic thing of myself...I cried. Never once did I cry after a game. Hell, I never cried after Evan, my own little brother, was shot by Rodney. But this hit me like no other, and I didn't know what to do.

The tears finally dried out as I sat there in my car for about two more hours with no music or no sound...just wondering where she went. I finally turned it on and drove off back to the apartment, hoping and praying that she would be there waiting.

But when my headlights revealed the dark parking lot, I was disappointed to see that Melyssa's car was long gone. My guess is that she drove off to Troy's apartment and wouldn't come back or speak to me until further notice. I contemplated driving over to his apartment to get this solved, but figured that tonight wouldn't be the best time. Let her settle down and maybe it would be easier to get her back.

I opened the front door and felt an emptiness inside. Walking into the bedroom, I didn't see anything of mine harmed, but I did notice that there were empty drawers once filled with her clothes. The more missing stuff I saw of her's, the more I kicked myself and the more it hit me. This might not be just a little break; she's possibly not coming back.

"So you're telling me that his friend's girl was Rebecca?" Troy asked a still crying Melyssa.

"Yeah," she replied, sniffling. "And she said that Ethan was already going to be a father...until they settled on an abortion."

"I knew that fucker would never change," he muttered. "So what are you going to do then Mel? Hang out around here and never face him again?"

"I wish," she said. "But I know I'll have to talk to him sooner or later. If he was hiding this, I don't even want to think about what else he might have been keeping from me."

"Yeah, I know what you mean."

"But right now I want to stay away from him as much as possible. Let tension ease before going back to see where we stand, you know?"

"Well you're more than welcome to stay here until that day comes. Just don't be bringing guys over every night."

"We'll see, we'll see."

Before attempting to go to sleep, I reached into my back pocket and pulled out Melyssa's engagement ring. I placed it right in front of the picture of me and her sitting on my night stand - the only picture of her left in the house. Then before turning off the lights, I kissed the ring and whispered one line as I drifted off into sleep.

"I don't care if I have to give up everything...this ring will be on your finger again. We'll be back together...we'll be back..."
