"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

Pacers Rally Behind Home Crowd To Stun Lakers

                      Starting Lineups:
                      T.J. Ford PG Derek Fisher
                      Marquis Daniels SG Kobe Bryant
                      Wally Szczerbiak SF Lamar Odom
                      Chris Wilcox PF Pau Gasol
                      Chris Kaman C Andrew Bynum

                      (6-10) 120 vs. 119 (12-3)

T.J. Ford gets an off balance buzzer beating 3 pointer to cap off a Pacers comeback from down 20 at halftime.

                      Top Performers:
                      Player Of The Game:

                      Chris Wilcox

                      Quote Of The Game:
"For our guys to head into halftime and have the resolve to fight back in the 2nd half like they did is incredible. Shots that were falling for them in the 1st half stopped falling for them in the 2nd and we managed to come back. Still, had T.J. not found a way to get that 3 to fall at the end, we wouldn't be celebrating a win right now. This is a huge win for us heading into a very tough road trip." - Pacers Coach Jim O' Brien

Holy shit indeed. When the 3 fell I jumped up and pumped my fist and said FUCK YEAH. lol.

I'll probably do a little article tomorrow going into more detail about the game. It's worth writing about imo.

Pacers Heading Into Boston Feeling Good

T.J. Ford's 3 pointer at the final buzzer completed a stunning comeback by the Indiana Pacers and a 120-119 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Wally Szczerbiak scored 22 points for the Pacers (7-10), who trailed 64-44 at the start of the third quarter but chipped away at the lead until Ford's 3 pointer bounced on both sides of the rim before dropping.

"It looked like it sat on there forever," Ford told reporters. "But I'm happy it finally went down."

Indiana out-scored Los Angeles 76-55 in the second half and Pacers GM Larry Bird felt the win was well earned.

"We showed a lot of heart in the second half," Bird said. "We did a lot of things right to come back in that game.

The Lakers (12-3) lost for just the third time this season and had a seven-game winning streak snapped.

"There was some luck involved, but that's the way basketball is if you don't take care of business," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "They got some energy going down low and the right things happened for them."

The Pacers frontcourt of Chris Wilcox and Chris Kaman outscored Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum 33-29 and outrebounded them 25-8.

"Both Chris' did an excellent job down there", Pacers coach Jim O' Brien told reporters. "In the 1st half, the only consistent scoring we could get was from those two, and when the double teams came in the 2nd half, it allowed our other guys to get good looks and our offense flowed nicely."

Ford scored 18 points along with 10 assists and Brandon Rush, who has been electric for the Pacers off the bench this season, pitched in 18 as well for Indiana, which had lost 5 of its previous 6 games.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 27 pointsbut had a tough night shooting as did Sasha Vujacic (6-20 from the field).

"They did a great job on the offensive boards and our turnovers created momentum for them," Bryant said.

The Pacers head to Boston tonight to face the other NBA Finalist of last season, the Celtics.

The Pacers fell to the Celtics earlier this season 113-104 but there is no doubt the Pacers have to be coming into this game feeling good after the performance they put on lastnight against the Lakers.
