Vikings No Problem for Eagles; Birds Advance to 7-2

Vikings No Problem for Eagles; Birds Advance to 7-2

      (6-2) - 38 @ 17 - (2-6)

      Recap:

The lowly 2-6 Minnesota Vikings hosted the 6-2 reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles. As one would assume, this game was indeed a disaster.

The Vikings were able to score two touchdowns against Philaelphia. One, a kick return from Percy Harvin, the other a screen pass that star running back Adrian Peterson was able to take all the way to the house.

The Eagles, on the other hand, were able to score five touchdowns, while forcing three interceptions. Both Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick played very well at quarterback.

The Eagles blew past the Vikings, but they will need to bring their A-game next Sunday against the Detroit Lions, who have surprised a lot of people with their 6-3 record.

Eagles Face Lions in Battle of NFC Elite

Eagles Face Lions in Battle of NFC Elite

Matt Stafford has shown great maturity so far this season.

The 7-2 Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting the Detroit Lions, who have shocked everyone so far this year with a 6-3 record after two straight seasons as the NFL's worst team.

The Lions have a number of dangerous weapons on offense, including Calvin Johnson, who is arguably the league's best young wide receiver. Former number one pick Matthew Stafford has shown he is a capable NFL quarterback, and running back Kevin Smith is explosive in the backfield.

The Eagles, however, are still considered the NFC's best team. Donovan McNabb is coming off of a game that earned him Player of the Week honors, and the Lions defense most likely won't be able to slow him down.

Eagles and Lions Battle it Out; Birds Win Close One

Eagles and Lions Battle it Out; Birds Win Close One

              (6-3) - 20 @ 27 - (7-2)

              Recap:

The Detroit Lions have surprised everyone so far this year with their 6-3 record after two years as the worst team in the league. They faced off against the 7-2 championship Philadelphia Eagles in a matchup of the NFC's best.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford impressed today, throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. The former number one draft pick matched up well against Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was outplayed a bit by the young Stafford.

The game's X-Factor was the running attack. The Eagles were able to put up 118 total rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Detroit could only run for 35 yards. This helped the Eagles barely edge out a win at home.

The Eagles will be heading to Washington D.C. next Sunday to face off against the division rival Washington Redskins, who stand at 3-7.

              Statistics:

              Passing:

Redskins to Host Eagles in Division Matchup

Redskins to Host Eagles in Division Matchup

Kyle Orton has not done a good job in Washington thus far.

The 3-7 Washington Redskins will be hosting the 8-2 Philadelphia Eagles.

Redskins' quarterback Kyle Orton has struggled so far this year, and running back Clinton Portis has had trouble with the Eagles' defense as of late.

The Eagles are rolling currently, defeating any opponent in their way. They seem primed for another Super Bowl run, and they'll be able to beat the Redskins with ease.

Redskins No Problem for Eagles; Philly Advances to 9-2

                          (8-2) - 35 @ 18 - (3-7)

                          Recap:

The 3-7 Washington Redskins hosted the 8-2 Philadelphia in an NFC East division matchup.

Redskins' quarterback Kyle Orton, who has played poorly all season long, actually played quite well for Washington today, throwing for 300 yards and a touchdown. However, running back Clinton Portis was unable to find any running room, getting ten yards on 13 attempts.

The Eagles, on the other hand, had 84 total rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to go along with two passing touchdowns. Philadelphia's high-powered offense led them to another victory, and the Birds will take their 9-2 record back home to Pennsylvania where the will match up against the 5-6 Indianapolis Colts in a rematch of last year's Super Bowl.

Eagles and Colts Set to Play Super Bowl Rematch

Eagles and Colts Set to Play Super Bowl Rematch

Peyton Manning is arguably the NFL's best player.

In a rematch of Super Bowl XLIV, the 9-2 Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting the Indianapolis Colts, who have struggled so far this year with a 5-6 record.

Indianapolis' offense is still as dangerous as it ever was, with the NFL's best at quarterback in Peyton Manning, Joseph Addai at halfback, and wide receivers Reggie Wayne, Anthony Gonzalez, and Andre Collier.

The Eagles also have a high powered offense as well as a tough defense. One can only hope that this game between the Birds and Colts is exciting as it was last time these squads faced off. Despite Indianapolis' record this game should be a tight one.
