        Heat Scorch Defenseless Knicks
Heat burn their way to 129 points

        Beasley wakes and bakes NY

This was not the way the NY Knicks wanted to start out their 2009 campaign, giving up 129 points to Wade and Co. The Heat cruised in this game to a 129-97 victory and still managed to give Wade the entire 4th quarter off. Wade played the role of distributer, dishing out 16 dimes. Daquan Cook took advantage of the extra playing time and lit up the Knicks for 24 points on 9/9 shooting, 6/6 from three. Ex-Knick Quentin Richardson also stuck it to his former teammates dropping 24 points on their domes. Michael Beasley led the way for Miami with 27 points, while Al Harrington led his team with 31. The Knicks actually played decently on the offensive end but their defense betrayed them. The Heat didn't even need Jermaine O'Neal who in 18 minutes went scoreless without even attempting a shot. That was strange.

Injury Woes Strike Already For Oden

One game in is all it took for the Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden to sustain an injury. Oden is expected to be sidelined anywhere from one to two weeks with a strained hamstring. Oden who recorded a double-double in his first game, felt the hammy go tight on him late in the 4th quarter. Oden promised that this latest injury would not make him miss any games but his skeptics already have raised a brow. Oden's overall took a 6 point hit as he went down to a 68. Also in the news:

                  Bobcats Prevail Over NY
29 point 4th quarter sinks NY

Wallace with the flush as Chandler trails the play

To the Knicks credit, they played way better defense this game against the Bobcats. At least until the 4th quarter. Charlotte poured in 29 points in the 4th quarter which propelled them to a 102-97 win. The game was close the entire way but the Knicks could not get over the hump. Raja Bell and Boris Diaw led the way for the Cats scoring 22 and 20 points respectively. The Bobcats boasted five players in double figures. Al Harrington had another monster game for the Knicks dropping 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Yeah Al's been coming through for me, but the defense has been suspect.....won't win many games if I don't figure out how to slow down the cpu lol.....this is the 360 version

Only six three pointers in two games from big Galli? We need to start seeing some 8 for 9 three point efforts Rhude.

Yeah I'm having trouble getting Nate untracked......Part of the problem is I'm trying to think pass first with him and when I decide to try and score with him he ain't in the flow

Al's heart is in the right place, but remember who's coaching this team....lol.....defense ain't exactly his policy

The NY Knicks home opener on Halloween was a good one as they turned in their finest defensive performance of their young season. Behind David Lee's career high 23 rebounds NY coasted to a 96-79 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. While Nate Robinson didn't have a great shooting performance he did dish out 15 dimes while adding 16 points. The Knicks boasted 6 players in double figures in the well balanced attack. NY smashed Philly on the board 60-36 and held them to 46% FG. Ny also got to the charity stripe 26 times. The only downside being they hitting only 14 of them. Gotta work on that free throw shooting.
