Clippers Emerging As Real Playoff Contenders
And Enjoying The Journey.
[Above] The Clippers are enjoying there basketball this season.
”The key to our winning record is our defense” – Baron Davis
As heard by starting Point Guard Baron Davis, the Clippers success so far this season has surprised a few people but they key point to there game that has impressed so many is there defense.
There defense is something they’ve worked on over and over again according to team members, and if they didn’t have people convinced they definitely proved it against the current best team in the NBA, Cleveland. The Clippers had a convincing 16 point win in Cleveland and held them to just 85 points, including a total of 10 points in the 2nd quarter.
The main standout on defense is Chris Kaman, Kaman has put on a highlight reel so far this season in blocking shots. Coming off a 6 block performance against the Cavs he continues to develop into more of a defensive presence.
The Clippers Defensive Highlight Reel Of The Season So Far
In a press conference after the Cavaliers game Baron Davis showed his leadership and made it known that he doesn’t want the team to get ahead of themselves just because they’ve strung together a few nice wins.
He went on to say that he’s enjoying his time on the court more than ever this season and gave great compliments about his teammates and there attitudes.
”This season is how Clippers basketball is meant to be played” – Baron Davis
Gordon And Kaman To Miss Hawks Game,
Resting Up Sprained Ankles
In an almost comedic fashion the Clippers Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman both sprained an ankle within minutes of each other late in the game against Chicago.
The thing that isn’t funny is that Kaman and Gordon are in the top 3 points per game for the Clippers, which hurts the team majorly. Lucky both Gordon’s and Kaman’s injury aren’t serious and hopefully will only miss this one game to rest.
Mike Dunleavy made the call to rest both of them as soon as it was known how serious the injuries were and Dunleavy would rather them miss a full game rather than play and risk injury even further.
The Clippers Rasual Butler and DeAndre Jordan will replace Gordon and Kaman in the starting lineup, perhaps the biggest challenge is for Jordan to play starters minutes at Center seeing as both Kaman and Camby are out with injuries. He will have to step up big time for L.A.
Clippers Accept Cavs Offer, Prospect Williams Heading To Los Angeles
Early this morning the Clippers got a call from the Cavs regarding Louis Amundson, they said they will offer 1 year player Jawad Williams who is a forward out of North Carolina for Forward Louis Amundson.
Now quite honestly, the Clippers staff new Amundson wasn’t happy with his minutes and they had to come to realisation that there are players ahead of him in the rotation, and that L.A probably wasn’t the right choice for him.
So what did they do? They accepted in hope that Louis could find better minutes in Cleveland and that in time Williams might turn out to be a solid part of the rotation.
Williams will most likely see most of his minutes at Power Forward seeing as the Small Forward position is pretty clogged up at the moment for the Clippers.
