FC Volendam 1-1 Fulham Cottagers draw away from home, Matteo injury length unknown -Johnson Peoples, October 2014
--------------------------------------------------
The focus was not only on the fact Fulham grabbed a point in Holland, but that their top scorer, Lam Matteo, could be injured for a longer amount of time than originally thought.

UCL Qualifying Standings:
GROUP A
1. Palermo -- 7 pts 2-1-0) 2. Valencia -- 6 pts (2-0-0) 3. Fulham -- 2 pts (0-1-1) 4. FC Volendam -- 1 pts (0-1-2)
--------------------------------------------------- Yikes. Matteo left at the stroke of half-time after appering to have a considerable limp - clutching his right hamstring while he winced in pain. There appeared to be no contact that could have resulted in the injury - which could mean this is more serious than we thought. He is likely to miss the match against Hull City this coming weekend, luckily there is a week off for the Cottagers as 2nd leg play for the Premiership Cup, in which Fulham have qualified to the 2nd round already, is the week after.
SIMMED RESULT Fulham 2-1 Hull City Cottagers manage take three points without Matteo -Johnson Peoples, October 2014
-------------------------------------------------- Standings: Fulham (4-0-1, 12 pts -- 2nd) 1. Man U (15 pts), 3. Tottenham (12 pts), 4. Everton (10 pts), 5. Sunderland (10 pts)
--------------------------------------------------- Preparing for City. Matteo is set to make his comeback in November against Manchester City (9th place), after a brief injury to his right hamstring (strained). Currently, Matteo's 6 league goals is tied for second place in the goal ranking behind Newcastle's Mark Viduka (7).
Lazaros opened up the scoring for the home side, but Caceido and City did not give up.
Fulham 1-3 Manchester City City make comeback, ruin Cottagers winning streak -Johnson Peoples, November 2014
--------------------------------------------------
'18 Lazaros Caution: Volz ('80) Sent Off:
'52-'89 Caicedo, '78 Serrano Caution: Fernandes (63) Sent Off:
Standings: Fulham (4-0-2, 12 pts -- 7th)
--------------------------------------------------- Rough comeback. Matteo was in the game for 45 minutes, and while he looked a bit faster - he's shooting was off the mark. I think a full game of chances is going to be a real test for him next week when Fulham face Valencia for the second time this year.
Valencia 2-0 Fulham Cottagers Champions League dreams ends in Spain -Johnson Peoples, December 2014
--------------------------------------------------
Arizemndi's first half strike was a thing of beauty, while Matteo and Giovinco sulked after realizing the loss was more than just a match lost.

UCL Qualifying Standings:
GROUP A
1. Palermo -- 10 pts 3-1-0) 2. Valencia -- 9 pts (3-0-1) 3. Fulham -- 2 pts (0-1-1) 4. FC Volendam -- 1 pts (0-1-2)
--------------------------------------------------- Blown opportunities. Matteo had his chances in this match, pretty much all his shots - except for his short volleys - were off target. "I'm a bit rusty still. But that is no excuse to not being able to at least find the frame". The loss was a heart-breaking one as Fulham are now eliminated from qualifying for the Uefa Champions League.
Man of the match: Lam Matteo's two goals was enough for a much needed Fulham point to a scrappy West Ham side.
West Ham 2-2 Fulham Cottagers hold on for point thanks to Matteo double -Johnson Peoples, November 2014
--------------------------------------------------
'14 Collison, '79 Huddlestone Caution: Sent Off:
'29-'82 Matteo Caution: Matteo (43) Sent Off:
Standings: Fulham (4-1-2, 13 pts -- 6th)
--------------------------------------------------- Permission to dominate. Permission granted. Lam Matteo was the focal point in this evening's match against West Ham. He was all over the field and had many chances, twelve total shots on goals - with eight on target. "It wasn't a bad showing," remarks Roy Hodgson, "But he had a couple more goals in him."
