The dual partnership of Agbonlahor and Matteo worked well for Hodgson and Fulham.

Never a doubt. Hair slightly longer, didn't change Matteo's ability to score another goal this season - his 13th for the year - placing him tied for first with 11 goals in the Premiership.

Stephen Reid's two goals in the second half were a surprise in a relatively scoreless match until then.

Lack of Midfield. Roy Hodgson chose to play around with his midfield again, placing Bullard and Steve Davis in the middle of the park - a decision that ended up hurting ball distribution for Matteo enormously. The loss results in Fulham moving slowly down the table back to 10th with a debut match in the Premiership Cup starting next week against Sunderland.

It was one of those matches where no kind of momentum formed for Fulham. Matteo stimulated some forms of attack, but the finishing by the teammates weren't up to par. Usually after the prem cup, things start to pick up - we'll see.

Lol, why does this advice sound oddly familiar to the one Julia Stiles character had when Heath Ledger was in detention (10 things I hate about you)....

Of course I hope you don't recommend THAT form of distraction to be in place.lol.

Quality. Top-class finishing by both Matteo and Agbonlahor today, setting the sails in the right direction for maybe a deeper finish in the Premiership Cup this year. Matteo's fatigue is starting to kick in, it was quite visible he needed a subsitute around the 70th minute, but did not get a rest untilthe 85th. Next week, Matteo is slotted for the starting spot against Stoke City next week.

                    Financial troubles
Cottagers forced to return Giovinco, Obertan and Agbonlahor

The faces of what was supposed to be the future of Fulham football will be no more now.

[Breaking News] In a shocking turn of events, Fulham Football Club have announced the releasing of three of their top stars. Giovinco, Gabriel Obertan and Gabriel Agbonlahor will be returned to their previous teams.

"The debt margin at this juncture is exceeding," states Michael Scarn, board representative and spokesman for the club, "These debts were outstanding and have grown to affect the club financially, and possibly collectively. The result of these returns will allow the club to move forward financially."

                          Matteo's career uncertain
Strike suffers possible "career ending" injuries from car accident, possibly next
                          on release list

The remains of Lam Matteo's car after his head on accident two days ago.

Doctors and medical staff for Fulham FC have listed American striker, Lam Matteo, in "critical"
condition, noting that he has had "severe blood loss", a "broken right leg" and "several" broken
                          ribs.

Matteo, now 23-years of age, began his career for the Cottagers in 2011 during the January
transfer window from Hull City. The striker has bagged 75 goals for the club, including 15 Man
of the Match awards. Along with his dedication to Fulham, Matteo represented the
United States in the 2014 World Cup this summer.

Prognosis has remained at its worse and according to sources, Matteo could be released
indefinitely so that Fulham Football Club can avoid the financial instability from the
                          young man's current salary.

"We expect to have a decision by the end of next week," states manager Roy Hodgson,
"However, I am deeply saddened and will do my best to make sure Matteo remains
a Cottager - even if he is not on the field, he will be with Fulham no matter what."

Matteo is set to go into operational surgery for the mentioned injuries this week.

                            Cottagers release Matteo in January
Hodgson and Fulham issue tough decision to fallen striker

Breda Hangeland and Fulham players will wear the black armband to signify their respect for Matteo.
The Cottagers have not played well without Matteo either.

The end for Matteo's career with Fulham FC has finally come. Rumors had it that the
beginning of the year, the striker would look for another home - but that was before his
horrific accident that has left the American crippled for an unknown amount of time.

"It has been an incredible experience," states Matteo from his bedrest, "Fulham is where I
would love to end my career - and it quite possibly could be. I am so very gracious to have
met the individuals I have, I wish them all the best - and maybe someday I will see
                            them on the pitch again."

Matteo's surgeries to his broken leg and ribs were successful. According to some
optimistic sources, he has already begun rehab for the sustained injuries.

However, even with the best rehab, Fulham's #8 will never achieve the level of play he
has produced les than a month ago.

Matteo was released with no penalties, his 1840P salary has been cut down significantly
due to surgery and operations cost.

A sorry ending to one of the greater strikers for Fulham FC, we pray for you Lam Matteo.
