Markakis Out 3 Weeks With Pulled Calf Muscle
Markakis Will Be A Tough Loss For The O's
Baltimore, MD -- Nick Markakis, Right Fielder for the Orioles was injured in last night's game against the division rival Yankees when he tried to stretch out a run to first base. "As soon as he was called out Nick was sitting up with his head in his legs, I knew something was wrong." This comment came from long time teammate Brian Roberts. Markakis is reported to be out 3 weeks and will not be placed on the DL. In the mean time Baltimore has made the decision to call up another young outfielder from AAA Norfolk. Nolan Reimold received the call up late Saturday night after the game and will be playing in Baltimore's next game. Reimold was reached for comment early Sunday morning and said, "I'm very glad they picked me to come up and replace Markakis and hopefully I can perform well so I can stay up here." Markakis will be sent down to AAA for the time he is injured and will be called back up when he is healed. The real question is, will the O's be able to turn their losing ways into winning ones even with Markakis out?Last edited by Justo; 06-23-2009, 10:04 PM.Comment

Injuries fucking suck.
Hopefully this Reimold kid can make some noise.
I lost Inge and Polanco in April and it was brutal. Still without Polanco. :/Comment

Great job so far.
Yea, it does suck cuz he was hitting like .350 for me. Reimold was called up IRL and plays pretty decent and i've played with him in the game before and he pretty much reminds of Markakis.Comment
