What I got out of the last 2 episodes:

-Chalky has way more influence then we knew before. Whoever has his support will have a huge asset.

-Obviously Jimmy is torn between what he wants to do. One line that really stood out to me was what Jimmy said to his mom regarding Al Capones dad being a barber along the lines of "sometimes I think I'd be better off if I lived a simpler life". Showing that Jimmy is having second thoughts about wanting to be 'in control'.

-Also shows doubt when Eli and Nucky's dad tells Eli that he has to help his brother. Again it's another character who is having second thoughts about turning on Nucky.

-It looks like Van Alden could possibly be loosening up. Possibly going to lean towards going corrupt? I don't know.

I don't see how they can possibly take away Nucky's power by the end of the season. I mean I wouldn't mind it because there are so many other characters who I would love for this show to focus on. But I mean this show is marketed around Steve Buscemi so I can't see them giving him a backseat to other characters.

What was up with the tension between Capone and Half Face? Was it simply jealousy on Capones part?

Just childish jealousy. He wanted Jimmy to be his best friend but after coming back from being away for so long and seeing Jimmy with a "new best friend" he is butthurt.

        My favorite parts:

        1. Frankenstein and the Irishman's confrontation. OMG WAS THAT FUCKING EPIC OR WHAT!?!?!?! sadly this can only mean that one of them will die at the end of the season

2.Nucky and Jimmy finally clashing, except this is what I got out of it, especially with Jimmy's last line to his wife saying "Which one?" a question of his own when his wife asked "Did you have a good night with your father." I think at the end of the season Jimmy will go back to Nucky and let his father, the commodore, die.

        3. Even though I absolutely hate Alden's character, just wow. That actor is phenomenal, absolutely unbelievable and believable. I have never hated yet loved a character so much. I liked how they added more to his back story as well.

        4. Finally I love the subtle addons with Al Capone throughout the season. Hopefully he becomes a huge part with Jimmy, but sadly I think Jimmy's friendship with Frankenstein will get Al jealous

        5. Margaret's backstory coming to light was kind of random and wtf but i began to feel bad for her, she almost seemed human without Nucky around and then at the end she turned into a cold cunt again. Makes me want to angry fuck her and then bring Katie in the back room and softly make love to her.

          "Making them stop what?"
"Whatever it is you don't want them to be doing."

Definitely loved/hated seeing him and Half-Face go toe to toe. You could tell they have mutual professional respect for each other, and they will certainly cross paths again.

And really, they had no reason to kill one another.

Half-face was like "look, are you buying the booze or not?". When it was clear the deal was off, his job at that point was to pack up and leave. He's just a henchman/delivery man, he doesn't give a fuck who is getting paid or not paid. If the deal is off, he goes home.

If Nuck doesnt make shit right then Chalky may be using his pull to do it himself. Im sure that scene was very necessary not to mention very awesome.

And LOL at Nelson being the best character outside of Nuck. That fucker is a bibal thumping, sicko hypocrite.

i disagree. i dont feel like we learned anything new about chaulky. I guess i can say that cause i just ran thru season 1 over the weekend and it was all fresh. nucky already used him for his political clout when it came to the mayor election. There wasnt much else to it in S2.

i thought episode 1 was pretty disappointing start. It feels like this power move by the commodore is being forced. It doesnt come across as real that all of nuckys political allies would all of a sudden jump ship like that. Whats in it for them? there was never any issue between those guys that mattered. Eli had his issue and the commodore is obviously just trying to take over power. It makes no sense for anyone to just say...yeah, we will follow you.

even jimmy...makes the least amount of sense. All of a sudden he has some loyalty to some old fucker who abandon him and he is gonna backstab the man who cared for and raised him

it could be a legit storyline....but this attempt feels rushed and lazy

                  "21"
In the second-season premiere, Nucky eyes a real-estate bonanza when it comes to access to Atlantic City, but has his hands full trying to play peacemaker after Chalky has a run-in with the KKK. Meanwhile, Nelson shows his wife around town on a weekend visit; Jimmy mulls career advice from the Commodore; and Al Capone looks to expand the illegal-booze business in and around Chicago.

                  "Ourselves Alone"
When realizing that he might be losing control over Atlantic City, Nucky tries to figure out which one of his men betrayed him. When agents search the Treasurer's Office for evidence, Margaret tries to dig into her past to help Nucky in the present. In New York, Rothstein puts Jimmy on hold, but Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano still look to be business partners. Chalky faces problems in prison with inmate Dunn Purnsley, who has an ax to grind. Owen Sleater, a man working for John McGarrigle, looks at the Thompson residence. Finally, the Commodore decides to introduce Eli to the men who made Atlantic City.

                  "A Dangerous Maid"
The Commodore throws his weight around with the Coast Guard to disrupt the delivery of alcohol, which creates an opportunity for Owen to demonstrate his value to Nucky and a struggling casino. Meanwhile, a letter dredges up painful memories for Margaret; Nucky calls in a favor with the U.S. attorney general; Meyer and Lucky learn the price of power; and Lucy searches for ways to cure her loneliness.

                    Fantastic episode.

Van Alden is always entertaining, but whatsherface's character annoys the shit out of me and I was getting a little frustrated with her whining, so I was relieved to see him turn around toward the end. (and with Doyle of all people inadvertently giving him advice).

No Chalky White makes me sad, but I'll live.

Nucky's flipping over of the lobster was pretty badass and definitely gave me a chuckle. I hate the Commodore with a passion, so I'm cool with Nucky fighting back. Jimmy and Half-Face being on board with the Commodore frustrates me because they're two of my favorite characters, but he's beat.

Loved when Al Capone responded to Nucky's question of what they do with the competition - "We're killin' em" Definitely am happy to see Al Capone making an appearance in Atlantic City. Not really sure where they're going to go with him and Torio now that they've cut themselves off from Nucky. Hopefully something happens with Al in Brooklyn when he goes to bury his pops and he stays in the area.

Speaking of the city, Jimmy murdering those dudes has gotten Lucky and his boy some beef with a Chicago crime boss. Anybody know who that dude was? Have we seen him before?

I forget his name, but I think he is just a big Italian boss in NY (assuming you meant that and not Chicago). It's based on a real character according to an AV Club commenter but I forgot his name.

But yeah it was funny seeing Lucky and Meyer express confusion over the two dead wops. "Wait, what?"

this last episode was definetly the best so far. the scene when nucky went up to the commodore at the restaurant was great.
