Almost done with season 3. Just watched the episode "The Fly" and thought it was one of my favorite episodes so far.

It's regarded as one of the best episodes in the series by most critics and fans. Fantastic work by both the actors and the director (was that a MacLaren one?)

idk...i just would have rather seen it play out in a show or 2 instead of him bunkering down in the garage with all his boxes of evidence. Plus the way Walt found out Hank was on to him was weak imo....its one thing to wonder about a missing book....but to all of a sudden turn a misplaced book into OMG hank must know and placed a tracker on my car....thats weak. they should have developed this angle a little more

Hank was the only person in the DEA that has been chasing the blue meth since it first appeared. Almost a year and a half of evidence gathering. He was also the lone person who believed that Gus was the biggest drug kingpin around; he basically got ignored until he whipped out the cup with his prints that matched Gale's apartment.

Even then, nobody believed him. It took Gus blowing up and the laundry being torched for everyone to believe him.

My point? He is a great cop and he's been looking for the connection for a LOOOOONG time, and it just smacked him in the face. He has lived and breathed this case for years. There is no way that he wouldn't have instantly connected the dots.

The Fly episode was directed by Rian Johnson of Looper, The Brothers Bloom and Brick fame. Pretty sure he directed an episode last season, too.

I've said it once, I've said it a million times. The simple fact that this show loves to deliver all these subtle little nuggets and foreshadows is just another reason it makes it such an excellent show. One that actually has some replayability because you'll continue to keep seeing new things each time you watch.
