Yeah if that room had just exploded and that was it... END SCENE. I would have dealt with it... But it was the second of suspense where you just saw Gus walk out and straighten his tie and you thought that he had survived that made me go "oh shit.."

Gus Fring... The best TV character since Stringer Bell, hands down.

Yeah that scene was legendary. However, I still think it is behind the slow zoom on the plant at the very end. That was the moment we all knew that Walt was on baddest mother fucker alive status.

i didn't like that they needed to make it 100% obvious it was walt who did the poisoning. watching his reaction to his conversation with jesse, i already knew. just a tiny nitpick, though.

the annoying part of the finale was that they needed to make it obvious where the plant came from.

Still the best show on TV with Boardwalk Empire.

with an amazing character like Gus, you can't just kill him or get rid of him. he needs to be taken out like that. up until that point, he wAs untouchable and a ridiculous way to take him out was the only option. They pulled it off flawlessly. you're in the minority with your thoughts on Gus's death.

And that's fine with me because it honestly baffles me that you guys think it was so great. Most of the tv/movie critics on this site are so unbelievably critical of every aspect entertainment it's a bit ridiculous. But this scene gets a pass?

I do think that Gus needed a proper send off but I just don't think that was the way to do it. That whole scene was like a scene out of the Cree Show or something. I love the fact that the old guy in the wheelchair despised Gus that much that he was willing to sacrifice his own life, as miserable as it was, to seek revenge on Gus. But the whole half skeleton fucking Two Face bit was just lame as fuck. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

If this same shit would've happened on Dexter, a show that has been receiving all sorts of nitpicking and negative criticism lately on this site, you clowns would've been shouting from the rafters about how terrible it was.

I just think it makes the scene that much worse when the writing has been so amazing to this point.

Gus really put this series on a whole new level, the way Trinity did with Dexter, and now it's up to Gilligan to keep rolling the ball uphill rather thank letting it just slide down the side of a cliff.

The difference between BB and Dexter is that Gilligan knows when to call it quits. The end is in sight and he knows exactly how to get there.

I think he was just meant to give the viewer the illusion he was still going to walk away from this one. He seemed to be one step ahead of Walt all season long and, as implausible as it seemed, I thought he was about to walk out of that room and rally the troops.

And that's perfectly fine. If he would've just walked out, riddled with shrapnel holes, and straightened his tie, that would've been fine with me. It was the whole Faces Of Death half skull that was just ridiculous. I seriously thought I was watching Bugs Bunny blowing up Elmer Fudd with Acme TNT.

So I guess what I'm saying is, I have no problem with how they took him out. I think it was great. My problem is with the completely over the top half skull bullshit.

Yeah, I never understood that. It's one thing if we're talking about a video game. Everyone plays a game at their own speed so putting spoiler tags in your posts concerning a new game makes sense. But a tv show? C'mon. I fall behind on shows all the time. Hell, I even said that I just watched the last four episodes of this show just the other day. And guess what, I avoided this thread until I watched those episodes. Common sense.
