The whole show was about the island with 10 minutes at the end thrown in that was nothing more than a last ditch attempt to tie everything together, which made no sense at all.

Not at all. The show was always about the characters. Never about the island.

Because that's what they told you after they ran out of ideas and tried to give everyone a patch em up happy ending? Dude the end of the show sucked, and was a total divergence from the first 5 seasons. Everything in the first five seasons revolved around Sci-Fi and the Island, while the last season slowly devolved in the cop out good vs. evil, everyone's going to hold hands and trail off into heaven religious bullshit.

              Then of LOST sucked. Period.

The first five seasons showed why they were all soo important to another. Important enough to construct a purgatory/deadzone in order to go to heaven together. Fuck your couch Patrick.

That's because it's what the last episode tells you, watch the first 4 seasons again up to the WGA strike and you'll see there is no logical connection between the arching plot of the first four seasons and the retarded conclusions of the last 10 odd episodes.

Pretty sure there was with all the flashbacks showing that they were all connected.

Uh...He was a fill in character to help some of the main characters achieve their real goals on the island and become better people. Your argument could be used for a shit ton of people saying they are irrelevant but it's the experiences the main characters had with some of the less important characters that helped them get to where they are. For instance, the whole deal with the pushing of the button and how Locke stopped him. How can you say this didn't help build Locke's character into being a man of "faith".

Anyways, the Event blew dick solely based on the piss poor acting. The thing that makes these scifi/mystery/thriller shows is hands down the acting. When you're dealing with twisted plot lines you must have solid acting. Jason Ritter? Jesus christ this guy is a poor man's Ethan Hawke. The acting was heinous and I won't be watching it again.

Can't wait for V to start back up!

uhmmm, Lost was hardly the most popular drama. It's ratings the first 3 years were around 18-20 million and a 5 in the demo, but the final 3 seasons were barely 9.0 million viewers and a 3.5-4.0 demo. Hardly serves as the "most popular drama of the decade."

To Lost fans it might seem that way, but the only people around the final 3 seasons were the die hard Lost fans who wanted to know what was going on. As an entire viewing population, the show was nothing more than average as a ratings producer. The show was outwatched on the final three seasons by many other programs (All 3 CSI's, Grey's, House, 24, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, even Numb3rs on Friday night was close). CSI has been the most popular drama for the last 6 years or more. Until last year when it was in the 15 million range, CSI was pulling in 18-24 million viewers every week with a demo near 4.5+. Even last year when comparing numbers it dominated the final season of Lost.

CSI (Vegas) will go down as one of the most popular shows ever, let alone drama's. And American Idol has been the most dominant show, period, of all genres, in the 2000's.

And he wanted more money and plus he was doing movies like GI JOE and shit. He obviously had to be written off because he wanted more money. Other shows do that.

(If you are talking about Eko)

And? That was the plan. But the actor got a DUI, than asked to get written out after his parents died so he could move back to London.
