    Red Sands - ** Stars

Cave Johnson sends Juice, Hardison, D.L. Hawkins, Tom Sawyer and a few more nobodies to watch a road near an abandoned mudhut out in the ass-end of the Middle East.

During their stay, one of the nobodies shoots the face off of a statue dedicated to the local folklore of the Djinn (Genie to Whitey).

Said Djinn takes revenge in the form of a local Arab girl as she causes the group to lose their shit and re-enact "Ten Little Indians."

Everybody dies except Cave Johnson and the handful of extras they paid to walk around in BDUs for an hour.

Don't watch this movie because there's better ones out there.

I think I watched both the best and worst movie of 2011 today.

Holy shit plot holes, way to fuck up a cool and intriguing premise.

"The twists are shocking and mesmerizing. A high wire, intelligent espionage thriller. It is one of the best movies of 2011."

I haven't seen it in years but I thought Baseketball was hilarious.

I just saw the Muppets the other day. I normally hate movies that incorporate singing constantly but I really liked it. The songs were bearable and I loved how self aware it was. I also forgot how funny the muppets can be at times. Plus Amy Adams is hot.

The 7 Star is vastly underrating it.

Does this mean you liked "A Serious Man", and you also enjoy Coen brothers movies?

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was somehow even more ridiculous than I thought it would be, still a fun movie though. I didn't see it in theaters but this would be the kind of stupid popcorn flick I wouldn't have been upset paying $8 to see.

I didn't like Horrible Bosses. It has never been a dream of mine to see Michael Bluth, Charlie Kelly, and *insert every Jason Sudeikis character here* team up together for some hilarious antics.

                          Finally saw Moneyball.

Pitt was awesome (as expected) and Jonah Hill was great. I kept laughing at how much of a dick they made Art Howe to be (don't recall how he was portrayed in the book, been forever since I read it), PSHoffman was good too.

I liked it and even how they weaved Beane's personal story into his tribulations as the black sheep in MLB as a GM.

However, the ending of it was completely BLEH. I was wondering how they would work it since there really isn't a big bang at the end of the story.

After falling short in the post-season again...Boston offers him a bunch of money which he declines and soldiers on in Oakland. Ho hum but I guess that's the only thing the writers could do for the big screen.

Art Howe was pretty much framed as the village idiot and a total puppet in the book.

It had changes that kept it different but the ending felt longer than necessary/10

Watched a few movies in the last couple of days.

Finally saw Super 8. All I can say is that it was a cool throwback.

Watched The Debt. I don't know if it was as good as the hype was making it sound, but I definitely enjoyed it. Just seemed very similar to a lot of other espionage thrillers of the last 5 years.

Also watched Empire Records for the first time. In the beginning, I was pissed at what I was watching, but it turned into a great movie once I realized the sarcastic intent of the intro.

Freakonomics was cool, even if they just visualized a few of the chapters from the book. Stephen Levitt is awesome.

Hesher was fucking awesome and terribly depressing at the same time. That poor kid.
