I saw Sound of My Voice in D.C. last weekend. It was just decent in pretty much every way, really nothing remarkable at all, but I felt pretty cool since it was the first time I've ever seen a very limited release film in theaters. Pretty sure it was only released in L.A., New York, and D.C.

            1. How was Brit Marling?
            2. Was the ending good?

                1. I'd say she portrayed what you'd expect from a role like that with an appropriate amount of charisma and mysteriousness. I wouldn't call it a powerhouse performance or one worth any acclaim, but she got the job done fine.

                2. Without spoiling anything, it treads a fine line between being open to interpretation and just being a cop-out. I think it leaned a bit more towards the latter, I was left a bit disappointed.

                    The Raven - **3/4 stars.

Middling murder mystery muddles macabre moments morosely.

If you don't dig alliteration, basically all you need to know is that no amount of set pieces, character actors or love for late-1800s era theatrics will save this film.

It's paint-by-numbers and doesn't go where it needs to go to make it great.

"Movie Night" fodder for sure if you can't find better.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly was a very, very good western, I don't really understand why it is rated so high on imdb compared to comparable films though.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, can't hold a candle to The Searchers.

                          Larry Crowne

What a fucking disaster this shit stain of a movie was.

Is there a more overrated filmography than that of Tom Hanks? Guy hasn't had a hit or a great movie in like a decade, and his crowing achievement (Forrest Gump) is massively overrated.

That is, minus Toy Story 3.

Disappointed there wasn't a huge explosion at the end.

I can put up with some of his other slow moving movies because they're short, but not this 3 hour one. After about 90 mins I just fast forwarded to the scene with Nico, then turned it off.
