Yeah, it was shot back in 2007 but took forever to come out because no one wanted to pay to distribute a movie with such blatant homosexuality. I actually thought most of those scenes made the movie way funnier and it was a really great flick.

Even better because so much of it is true.

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse - Fascinating documentary chronicling the making of Apocalypse Now. The film mostly focuses on the difficulty of filming in the Phillipines, and how the stress of making a movie without an adequate ending and that suffered constant delays wore at Coppola, the cast, and crew throughout the entire process.

Black Swan - Very, very good flick by Aronofsky. He turned an awful, Lifetime type of plot (troubled Ballet Dancer becomes star of ballet) into an incredible piece of film. His fingerprint of a psychological flick is here, much like his Requiem For A Dream. Must watch. Also, how creepy is this fuckin gif?

The Heiress (1949) - For you old school movie guys on VSN (all 3 of them, maybe), go check this one out. Strong recommendation right here. Olivia de Havilland shows the complete 180 of an innocent girl who becomes scorned by her fortune hunting lover. Also, a great performance by Sir Ralph Richardson as her father. Heartthrob of the era (also was gay, but da ladies loved him) Montgomery Clift does a surprisingly good job as the fortune seeking lover. Lots of subtle stuff here and great use of sound and camera work put this movie over the top...strong.

The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) - I shouldn't even have to write anything up here. Just go see this movie tomorrow if you haven't already. Alec Guiness puts on a generational performance as Colonel Nicholson. Also, if you haven't seen a David Lean film, get on it, mopes. This film + Lawrence of Arabia + Doctor Zhivago + Ryan's Daughter + Summertime + Oliver Twist + Great Expectations...the list goes on...he's a great director. Go see this movie NOW NOW NOW!

That gif is very fucking creepy. I hated Requiem for a Dream, FWIW. I liked Black Swan a lot, buut not as much as a few other releases this year. Aronofsky is very good but a touch overrated, IMO.

Been on a documentary streak lately. I dont know if the 30 on 30s count but the one on Marcus Dupree is touching.

Due Date. Actually a solid comedy, better than I ever imagined it could be.
