Yeah it was a pretty good message in Battle Royale and the Running Man, the movies this hack writer ripped off.
Anyway, lately I've been on a TPB kick, watched The Big Dirty (8/10) and Countdown to Liquor Day (7/10).
Also on a Korean Revenge kick too:
Watched the Vengeance Trilogy by Chan Wook Park (all 10/10), The Man from Nowhere (10/10) and the Chaser (7/10), as well as Japanese revenge movie Outrage, directed by and starring none other than Beat Takeshi (aka Vic Romano from MXC) also a 10/10.Comment

Bellflower - I am not sure if I liked it or not yet. It is extremely different than the plot descriptions and review quotes make it seem. I can definitely appreciate the cinematography at the very least.Comment

It is an intense relationship drama with an apocalyptic-esque escalation of events.
I hadn't seen a trailer before watching it, and after watching that I thought it was an accurate representation of the film.
It definitely wasn't an action film though, and it is definitely not about "Two friends spend all their free time building flame-throwers and weapons of mass destruction in hopes that a global apocalypse will occur and clear the runway for their imaginary gang "Mother Medusa". (imdb)
It's probably a good thing that this wasn't the premise considering the budget.Comment

That is definitely the most compelling component of the plot.
Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale - The pacing and script was not great, but I was so entertained by how original and creative the premise was that I still enjoyed it.Comment

7.6/10 I enjoyed it. It showed how different cultures find a way to play. From fields plowed from a shanty town in Africa, to San Pedro(prison) in Argentina, or through the religious divides in JerusalemComment
