Not to mention, Some Like it Hot had a seriously risque ending for the 1950s.

      "Well nobody's perfect"
      "Shut up and deal"
"I'm ready for my close up"

No one does ending lines like Billy Wilder.

        Pacific Rim.

Jesus that was a visually awesome movie. Should only be seen in 3D and Imax. 3D arguably as good as Avatar and Avengers.
I hope Michael Bay watches and learns a shit ton of lessons.
Good job of limiting screen time and lines so noone really fucks it up with a bad performance which some were verging on. From what I understand this movie is huge overseas and flopping here. A shame as this is such a damn fun movie.
Best reason to have a license.

Not a huge hit overseas...only about 140M right now and about 90M domestic. Its fair to call it a flop stateside.

The 3D kicker is great because that gets it into Chinese theatres which helps out a TON. It made its money back, but not by much.

I don't know if they'll green light a #2 because itll take a huge investment and I don't think the return will justify it. But we'll see.

I thought it was fine. It was a summer blockbuster that was an homage to the old style Kaiju movies. If you wanted more than that...you were probably disappointed.

The Conjuring - On par with Sinister, which was great/10.

'Murica has had some strong horror films in the past year and a half or so.

Funny, I think I recall me and Brink having a CB viewing party for the Source Code. Just watched it last night too.

Fwiw I thought Conjuring was much much better. It took everything recent horror movies have done right with very little if any faults. Much better acting and camera work too.

James Wan has quietly put together a solid horror filmography for himself. The original SAW, Dead Silence (panned by critics, but I really liked dug it), Insidius was good for 3/4 of the movie, and now The Conjuring.

I just watched The Conjuring on my couch. With Chinese subtitles.

The movie was so great, I didn't even notice the subtitles. It probably helped that I had absolutely no idea what the symbols were, but the movie was still great.

The scene with the two girls in the bedroom was terrifying. There was nothing there, but the acting of the girls was spot on. Good stuff
