Umm books shouldnt effect me like this i came home from work pissed off after reading that.

When that happens on the TV show everyone is going to lose their mind. Its going to be huge and I'm sure the show runners are going to do it perfectly. Its actually how I think the 3rd season should end. It'd be such a great final scene.

That's my prediction too. When I read that part, I couldn't sleep afterwards and my girlfriend was all like "It's just a book, relax" because she hasn't read it. That character is probably her favorite after watching the show though, and I kind of can't wait for that part just to stick it to her.

And you just know that on TV they will show Grey Wind's head mounted on Robb's body outside on the battlements. That scene is going to be fucking brutal.

Lady Stoneheart is also going to freak people out.

I can't wait until Dave watches that scene next year.

Dave's response: "This show just keeps getting worse and worse. All the characters that were worth a damn are gone."

I saw an interview with GRRM about the changes made in season 1 of the show and it was intriguing, so I started reading the first book to get all of the stuff I missed from only watching the show.

              Finished AFforC finally.

RIP Brienne and Pod. Gonna miss those two crazy kids. That Zombie Cat Stark is one coldhearted bitch.

RIP mah dude Maester Aemon too.

She yelled something right before they hung her, and apparently whatever it was persuaded them to let her live. They still haven't said what it was she yelled though.

If he thinks that's bad, he'll be ultra pissed at season 5, my friend didn't even wanna finish the last couple chapters of the book lol.

Finally finished ADwD. Odd feeling of closure.

                    Anyway, my thoughts ...

Feel a little bit underwhelmed at what all was left unresolved. The fact that Dany still hasn't started making her way to Westeros is annoying. I mean come the fuck on already.

                    - It was great to get a few chapters from Barristan's perspective.
                    - A major theme in this series seems to be "don't overreach" ... See Theon, Asha, Quentyn, Cersei, Jon, Connington, etc. A lot of ambition going on here.
                    - Still hate Theon but after seeing him become Reek I was rooting for him to become Theon again. Not even a treacherous turncloak bitch such as himself deserves what Ramsay Bolton did to him. The chapter where the spearwives help him and Jeyne escape was one of the most intense reads of the book. Heart was pounding as they got to a dead end and jumped over the wall.
                    - Did not figure out the Mance/Abel thing until a co-worker who was at the same place mentioned it to me.
                    - Really wondering if the Bolton host smashed Stannis's camp, or if Ramsay was just posturing in the letter
                    - Seeing the Watch betray Jon was rough, felt like a mixture of the Red Wedding and the Old Bear's demise at Craster's. Upon thinking about it though, it was justified by the brothers. Jon was in way too deep with affairs that did not concern the Wall, and he was jeopardizing their strength with every decision he made to appease the Wildlings. From Jon's perspective his motives were pure, but he was no longer thinking with the best interests of the Watch at heart. I suspect he's not dead, as Ghost and Melisandre will surely have his back.
                    - As a member of the "Ralph Lauren Jeans" camp, I subscribe to mgo's theory about Jon being Azor Ahai.

HO-LEE SHIT at the last 4-5 chapters and the prologue.

                      - Arya killing the Tickler was so hardcore.

-I knew Tyrion was probably gonna escape, but offing his pops on the way out? Cold blooded.

-Lord Commander Jon Snow. Nice. Hilarious that heading north and taking the black was actually the best move he ever made, considering what happened to all his family loved ones who went south. And call me corny, but a smile came to my face when Ghost came back.

-The whole Lysa/Sansa/Littlefinger moon door chapter was incredibly done all the way until the end.
Yo, that Arya thing was probably the most hardcore shit i've seen from a 9 yo chick in forever!!

Hopefully, Martin writes that episode same as he did the Blackwater episode for season 2.

she shouts something out at the end right after Pod gets got. Whatever it was, it sure had a serious impact on Stoneheart. or hell, maybe Thoros revived her same as he did Dondarion and Cat Stark.

Yeah, when I first read it I guessed that ...

the word she shouted was either "Jaime!" or "Sapphires", meaning that Jaime was going to appear out of nowhere and ride down the outlaws, thus saving her ... but after reading the next book I think it was probably just "WAIT!" ... then she said "I'll do it."

It's pretty clear she is luring Jaime to his death when she reunites with him, right?

I think that Jon Snow's body will be killed, but I believe he'll either warg into Ghost or possibly Stannis (I think mgo might have suggested this to me).
