Yes they were oases in a desert of Sansa/Cersei chapters. Jamie chapters are really good in general, definitely won me over as a top notch POV.

Every time I witness a new reader of the series go from 3 to 4, I wonder how fucking HORRIBLE it must have been for people that waited all that time between 3 and 4 release dates.

I was shocked myself when there was no Jon Snow, and that was just reading about it in reviews (and I actually really like that book). I really could not imagine someone going in like "YES! Now is when we find out how Jon kicks ass as Lord Snow!" Sorry, no.

Man I hope that book 6 is good. And preferably under 1 billion pages.

            I don't think book 6 will disappoint.

I mean, really everything's all set to go off. GRRM has all but said that he ended book 5 too early.
Don't go further if you're not all caught up:

You know Victarion is going to smash into Slaver's Bay and duke it out with the bitch ass blockade that's in there. Then you have to figure that Daenerys will lead that Khalasar back to Mereen and really assert herself. Maybe after the dust is settled over there (land and sea), Daenerys will return to Westeros with the Iron Fleet (either by stealing them with her Dragons or as Victarion's bitch after they blow that horn).

As for what's going down in Westeros, I can't even begin to imagine all the ways GRRM could go...

Honestly, they get really, really good. You will never like Cersei, but they go into great detail about her...let's say, mental stability, and it was a great read IMO.

Really upset at how much sense those theories make, I've been in denial about it ever since Victarion set sail for Slaver's Bay. I like Victarion more than the other Greyjoys, but he still kind of sucks and it would be lame to see Dany end up stuck with him. Hopefully the dragon horn doesn't work, and if she obtains the Iron Fleet it comes without having to marry him.

If there's one thing I've learned from reading this series it's that GRRM loves to start planning things so that you think you know what's coming and expect it... only to interrupt the story in some way and send it in some other direction. There are no straight story lines.

"We're going to this place." I can't wait for them to get to that place!

I was about 70% through 'A Feast For Crows' last night when I sat down around 7:30 to read for a bit....before I know it it's 11:30 and I'm done haha, the last third of the book is really really good. Now I just need to wait for the library to make a copy of book 5 available because there's no way I'm paying $25 for it.

Yeah, AFforC gets a bad rap but I remember the final third of it being a pretty intense read.
