Looking on wikipedia, they have 6 issue collections (trade paperback), 12 issue collections (hardcover), 24 issue collections (omnibus editions), and the 48 one I was looking at. (compendium) over 1000 pages, but no cover art.

I may actually just get the 24 issue ones, a bit more expensive, but less of a pain I'm guessing, and has cover art

I own the Compendium, it's the only 'comics' i've bought since I was like 14, bought it a couple of years ago on ebay.

Shit's huge. I had already read those issues at the time though but bought it to have a physical copy as all I had were digital. I've read through it twice. But yeah you definately have to set it down and read as it's so heavy.

For all the future ones i'm planning on getting the hardcover ones

I found a few podcasts for the show and decided to pick one and decided to start from the pilot and the guys bring up a good point, where exactly do the Grimes live? They were saying Kentucky but to Atlanta on a horse would take a long time, but he could have driven most of it I guess.

I believe in the show he's a sheriff's deputy in King's County, GA. In the comics he's a sheriff's deputy in Kentucky.

Couldn't figure out how to get that calibre program to transfer them to my Kindle, so I just downloaded a .cbr reader and reading them on my laptop now. Just finished the first issue and can already tell it's going to be a long night of reading.

Download ComicRack and then just export those comics into a giant JPEG image and put them on a kindle. Always has worked for me.

Import one of the CBR files into calibre by clicking add book, once its in the library click and drag it to the top where the kindle icon is, it will tell you the file needs to be converted, click yes. On the bottom right of calibre you will see the the job text working, once its finished its on the kindle. I only tried the 1st comic, took about 1 minute or so for it to convert.

All else fails, watch the video on the calibre website by clicking the laptop on the homepage. The creator gives clear instructions.

I figured out the problem, didn't realize you had to unlock the Kindle once plugged in to get your computer to recognize it. I had never connected it to my computer before, time to go on a little book downloading spree.

                        Some comic thoughts

Surprised how quick Shane went. Carl is definitely more of a bad ass in this, carrying a gun, already firing it twice before getting shot himself, awesome. Andrea and Dale? whoa. I'm hoping Tyreese can fulfill my Darryl absence, he is even getting close with Carol kind of like how Darryl is always around for her in the show.

Just got to the farm, we'll see how this goes.

your mind will be blown by how quickly that goes by in the comics

Ok, so I'm re watching the series and have read up to issue 25 of the comics are there are some things I have noticed and a possible theory on season 3.

Well obviously the show does tend to deviate a little heavy from the comics. Especially when Shane dies in issue 6, but I understand why they kept him around.

I do like how they have nods to things in the shows from the comics, like Shane replacing Tyrese in the scene where Carl gets shot. The whole running out in the city with blood all over them, and some things I may just be reading too much into. I found 2 with Randal on the show that may allude to two other characters, 1. the leg, same place as Allen in the comics, and they thought amputation was the best thing. 2. the hanging, I think his name was Thomas? A person Rick almost hung because of what he could do. In one episode there was a pretty big fight between Rick and Shane, couldn't help but think of Rick and Tyrese and their fight. In the comics, after they leave the farm for the first time, and go to the prison, they come back to the farm to get everyone else, especially Hershel so he can make it farmable, in the show, they just got rid of the farm so they have that labor in hand for the prison. Morales, the dude from the first season with the family, I think he was meant to be the answer to Allen. After Tyrese basically cheats on Carol with Michonne, Carol basically tries to off herself, Maggies sister tried to off herself, but obviously under different circumstances. And at one point, the sisters talked about a suicide pact, similar to Julie and Chris. I can understand why they had to draw out the farm more and I definitely prefer the shows barn shooting over the comics. Anyway, sorry for that long rant, lol.

My theory on season 3 is that the group Randal was associated with is under control of the Governor. I think in later issues the survivors run into these Woodbury? group, and I think they may have been part of the group in season 2.5 Reading up to issue 25, the Governor isnt mentioned once and I could see how they could get a season out of that already, so it made me wonder how they could already introduce the Governor in the show, which is why I think that group is under his control. Maybe on the way to the prison they meet up or something and since alot of the characters that are there for the start of the prison storyline arent in the show, they may skip over some parts of the prison storyline

Just my .02 and sorry for my rant, things have been rambling in my head since I started reading the comics and seeing similarities/differences to the show.

Michonne's revenge on the Governor was some medieval type shit.
