The Walking Dead isn't on the same tier as the 3 you mentioned. Its in the tier right below them. However, depending on how this season goes, it could make the leap.

As of right now, this show is on pace to make the leap. They have seriously stepped up their game so far this season.

Don't think so. I can't even remember most of that first season. Pretty forgettable.

I'm pretty sure the 3rd season is airing after Boardwalk Empire each week and will have a 5-episode final season next fall, IIRC.

It's great that Lori is dead and all, she was by far the most annoying character on the show now that Dale is dead and not able to preach morality to us. But a baby? Really? was there anyone sitting here going "MAN I CANT WAIT TO WATCH RICK RAISE A BABY!" that's a fucking soap opera plot. I'm not looking forward to a shit ton of Worried Rick Face as he tries to deal with his feelings for raising Shane's kid or the ridiculous situations that will come up. MAGGIE MUST RISK HER LIFE FOR DIAPERS! THE BABY CRIES ALERTING A LARGE PACK OF ZOMBIES! LONG MONOLOGUES HOW IF WE CANT RAISE A CHILD WE HAVE TRULY LOST OUR HUMANITY!

This season is very good, but they still haven't shaken the touchy feely bullshit from the farm completely. Hopefully the child is addressed in the way comics did.
