It seems like a shame to only have him in the show for however-many episodes are left in the season assuming his arc ends similar to what happened in the comic. I could see them extend his part into season four though and maybe replace Abraham until they get settled in D.C.

I doubt the arc stays the same as the comic. The show is already basically nothing like the comic outside of a few similarities in themes and some character names.
