Jett here, coming to you live from Comic Con in San Diego. Why am I writing something here on the "Batman Movie News" page and not the one devoted to this year's Con? That's because our old friend Gary Oldman kinda let something slip today during the Warner Bros. panel for THE BOOK OF ELI.

"The next BATMAN is shooting next year. It's at least two years away," Odlman said when asked about the next film by a fan. He then joked, "But you didn't hear it from me."

Hmmm. THE DARK KNIGHT was officially announced the week following Comic Con in July of 2006. Might we be getting a B3 announcement next week? Stay tuned!

It comes down to whether or not the Nolan's can come up with a viable story for round three.

By all accounts they were deadset on going with another film based around the Joker, namely the trial of the Joker...if that isn't whats going to happen (and they won't recast Joker)...it'll take a long time before we find out if there will really be another Batman film done by the Nolan's and if we do, it'll mean they actually came up with an idea that could better TDK, in their eyes.

The idea of a Heath Ledger Batman 3 film directed by the Christopher Nolan (ie, Trial of the Joker) will get put alongside Sergio Leone's Seige of Leningrad as the greatest films that were never made.

Looks like Bruce Wayne will only stay dead for about a year. Good to see Grant Morrison still can't make a title somewhat creative, and not suck.

It took a long and winding path to get to this story. But here we go.

The Search For Bruce Wayne. The Return of Batman. Two series by Grant Morrison kicking off from Summer 2010. After his apparent death (twice) and revelation that Bruce Wayne is stuck somewhen in the past (possibly crossing the spirit path of Captain America, I dunno) word is that DC will be bringing their world’s greatest detective in rubber back in a series of series, the details of which are completely unknown (to me, I mean) save for their working titles (which may be old) and that it’s all part of the Big Grant Morrison Batplan for 2010. For which, one day, I wish DC publish big hyperlinked blueprints. That would be nice.

Oh come on, how long did you think he’d be dead for anyway? And odds are there will be a number of clever surreal twists to this return to delight the senses. Enjoy…

haha, i've probably seen it that many times too, but its because i watch alot of my favorite movies ALOT, hell, when i first downloaded Eurotrip i would watch it alot, but then i realized there really was nothing funny about it. just watched Wolverine this morning, but i just cant stand the plot so i wont be watching it alot.

Just wanted to bump this thread up, to make all the new guys jealous. Basically I'm numero uno when it comes to Batman knowledge here. Thread may seem small, but I left behind 30+ pages of awesome at the shit hole known as MM.

Anyways not a lot going on right now, but we can still expect Batman 3 in summer 2012. Rumors are swirling that Christopher Nolan has signed on for Batman 3, but WB hasn't made an official announcement.
