But the money a movie makes is one thing: Affleck spent YEARS getting over this stigma of shlock, and while he has been great on the other side, it hasn't been long enough for him to attach himself to another stinker IMO. And I just can not imagine a movie where he is Batman and Cavill is Superman and taking either of them seriously at any point.
Batman and Superman do not belong in the same world together, even when they're well written.
Hopefully Affleck has read the script and is confident in the project, otherwise why else would he sign on if he thinks it is a stinker (I'm sure he's being paid a lot). But whatever, the movie might be crap, but at least we'll have the scene where Batman beats the shit out of Superman. I'm confident that will be good.Comment

Morgan Freeman to be replaced by Jay and Silent Bob.
In all seriousness though, as someone who was never all that into comic books I don't really care what they do with these movies post Dark Knight because that isn't being topped ever.

I don't really have too many issues with Snyder.
Dawn of the Dead was good. 300 was good. The Watchmen as a theatrical cut...it just lacked...but the Ultimate Cut is one of the best comic book adaptations. Sucker Punch wasn't for me, but its kind of a cult movie. He did a fine job with Man of Steel...all issues with Man of Steel are in the writing as well as the main character just not being very interesting to begin with, not the execution of the script.
His work with Superman/Batman will come down to the script. If Nolan's people can put together a good script for the film, I'm certain Snyder will make a good movie. You know it'll at least LOOK amazing and be well put together in the editing room. But, if the story sucks, there isn't much anyone will be able to do with it.
Affleck is fine...I think he's at a point in his career where he knows how to summon his real acting chops, but again, if he's undermined by a poor script or bad material...that's another thing. I think he looks the part of a good Bruce Wayne, just not sure he's a good Batman.Comment

The Jacked Crusader! Ben Affleck has been cast to play Batman opposite Henry Cavill's Superman in the planned Man of Steel sequel -- and the Oscar-winning hunk, 41, has already begun intense training to fill the iconic superhero's suit. A source tells Us Weekly that the actor, director and father of three has been working hard to get buff -- training two hours a day to transform his physique.
