To be fair, he actually is pretty awful with runners in scoring position throughout his career. (.231 with RISP career, .217 last year).
That being said, he's a decent signing. Nothing earth shattering, and certainly not anything that's likely to push the White Sox over the top or anything. If anything he's a poor man's Jim Thome circa his time with the White Sox.
It's why "clutch" arguments are largely stupid in career context. For the most part, over enough at-bats, players numbers will normalize in clutch or RISP positions to what they do normally regardless of situation.

Dunn is probably the most underated offensive player of his generation. I hated that the Reda traded him.Comment
