I really don't have anything to add, other than: lol

Oh, and fuck you for making it extremely unlikely that the Sox can get Crawford now. There's no way they'll pay what he's going to want after this.

This deal has screwed up a lot of potential deals this winter. I can't believe Werth actually got the money, I am happy for him, but man did the Nats over-pay. Funny I think Jayson Stark mentioned, that the Nats were bought for $120 million or something in 2002, now they just spent $126 million on one player, lol.

Another annoying aspect is that the Phils can't even take full advantage of the compensatory pick, because they won't get the Nats' 3rd overall pick, they will get a supplemental pick.

WTF does that have anything to do with Jayson Werth's situation. JD Drew was a prick who wanted to be overpaid before he even took one swing of the bat. He claimed to be a HOF player, which he never amounted to and during negotations bad mouthed every aspect of the city, its people and the team. Fuck that guy.

Werth, we were grateful to have him, did he treat us badly during this entire process, nope and almost any Philly fan is happy for him to make the money he's making now.

Quit watching SportsCenter and get your shit straight.

Barkley was talking about how great the fans were when he came back to play the Sixers when he demanded a trade to the Suns during the pregame of the Cavs-Heat game. We also gave Burrell a warm reception his first game here.

I love how people make these blanket generalizations about our fanbase based on lazy national sportswriters who take cheap shots without any merit.

How is this annoying? I'm pretty sure it's always like this, and there is still lots of talent in the end of the first round anyway.

The Phillies will get a supplemental pick (after the 1st round) and the Nats 2nd round pick b/c their 1st is protected.

At least you didn't get a third round pick like Toronto did when Burnett signed with the Yankees a few years back.

Nats apparently offering Cliff Lee a 7 year deal now too.

                      What the hell?

The Nationals owner, Theodore Lerner is the richest active owner in MLB. The 29 other GMs can't be happy about this, because the Nationals are setting price levels for other players that no one is going to match.

                              Double post

I love Ted Lerner's wallet. I am warming up to this approach too. We have to overpay to get the top talent to come to Washington now but once we establish a winning tradition it will be easier to attract free agents

lol @ Jayson Werth (as the big hitter in a line-up) = winning tradition

Even if they shock the world and sign Lee, I'd hate to see that team in 6-7 years when both Lee and Werth are old as hell and not worth $20+ million at all.
