What was the payroll of those teams, where did they rank in comparison to the rest of the league? And how many different teams have made the playoffs over the last decade?

Quit being a bitch and enjoy the fact that the power has shifted to the NL, I mean for Gods sake the NL has the Phillies and a one game winning streak in the all star game ( in the same year) !
Dis nigga. If you really believe the Reds are a "flash in the pan" you are a fucking idiot. We will be sticking around in the NL for awhile buddy. Now competing with the Phillies is a whole different story, but still. Ain't no way you can say we are going to fall off. GTFO

I think he's angry that his championship team doesn't get as much press as one of the teams that they beat on their way to said championship.

          GO PHILS!

Collusion! This has been in the works since they traded him to get Halladay.

For one it's different because it's baseball, and while their pitching rotation is stacked, he still has to go out and pitch to win games (and if they don't put up runs they won't win either).

How is this a bad thing for baseball? The guy was GOING to get a big payday SOMEWHERE because he earned it. He took LESS money to go where he WANTED to go. Isn't that how we would rather baseball be?

I wouldn't even use a 5th starter if I were Philly. Your rotation is made up of guys who pitch well on short rest

I don't wanna see any Yankee fans crying over the fact that we didn't get him....Cashman was a fool for offering him 7 years in the first place, wasn't any guarantee he was going to be effective for that many years

He had trouble with his back last year, so that's another thing I was wary of.....those type of injuries tend to flare up again......

Also, I never liked his makeup....tremendous pitcher, but I like my pitchers to have that Roy Halladay type makeup.....I seriously doubt Lee would've been able to handle pitching in a very unforgiving place with a crazed media waiting for you to fuck up so they can blast you for not living up to your contract....

Lee went to the right place IMO.....he loved the Phillies and they love him back......he never wanted to be traded in the first place.....wasn't about lust for him like Cashman showed.....I hate the way Cashman does business sometimes but that is a rant for another day when I suffer through another Burnett meltdown....I'm glad Cashman's cocky ass got humbled....money don't always buy you love

Lee will probably be very successful in Philly and all year I will hear Met fans cry about those fucking Phillies

Couldn't have ended up any better

I agree with almost everything, but I don't understand you along with many yankee fans think he would have withered under the pressure of NYC.

He's got a track record of showing up there bunch of times wearing the enemy's uni in big games and dominating in that stadium.
