I'm okay with Verlander winning. There wasn't a clear-cut, above-all-others position player to hoard votes. Ellsbury, Bautista, Cabrera split them between each other. A valid case can be made for any of those guys.
Justin Verlander wins AL MVP.

If neither of those three teams made the playoffs, I would see the issue with Verlander being the MVP over Ellsbury. But I'm OK with it.Comment

I will agree with that. I didn't think Ellsbury should win it, especially since the Red Sox fell off the face of the Earth in September. Yes, I do know that Ellsbury was one of the few players who kept playing well, but Verlander had an excellent season for Detroit, and out of him, Ellsbury and Bautista, we all know who made the playoffs, and who didn't.

It isn't just Andino. They were terrible in September, and with the talent on that squad they should not have had to rely on getting an average major leaguer out in the final game of the year to make the playoffs.Comment

I would have voted for Verlander but not because the Red Sox missed the playoffs.Comment
