    Bad Baseball Statements

Carlos Zambrano is a top 10 pitcher in Cubs history.

    Wait top 10 since 1919.

Anthony Rizzo is worth James Russell and Randy Wells.

Alfonso Soriano was a top 10 player in 2007.

The Cubs should bench Soriano and kill what trade value he has.

The Nationals are one bad-bodied power hitting 1B away from making the playoffs.

Mike Morse's 2011 BABIP doesn't matter because he wasn't a full time player in 2006.

Ryan Braun deserved the NL MVP more than Matt Kemp because James Loney is worse at baseball than Prince Fielder.

Bronson Arroyo still deserves a spot in the Reds starting rotation.

Carlos Zambrano leaving the Cubs rotation in 2010 didn't hurt them in any way.

Wins Above Replacement is the best stat one can use to evaluate a player.

I didn't realize there was one single stat that was going to be perfect ... I always used a combination of stats to provide a clear picture.

WAR is a very useful big picture metric, but nobody thinks it's the ONLY or BEST way to evaluate.

I wouldn't say BEST but I don't think it's exactly a bad statement. It's always about a collection of stats.

Carlos Zambrano wasn't a bad clubhouse guy when he was with the Cubs.
