Trade Deadline Random Thoughts/Rumors

We need help fielding, not guys who are average out there. We've got plenty of those in Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds. Can't hide both and Corey Hart at 1B.

Not saying you guys should take on Ramirez, but both those guys you mentioned strike out at a ridiculous rate.Reynolds has been pretty fucking awful all the way around, and they should look to dump him in the offseason, Davis is a little more versatile and they should keep him around for at least another year while they get everything in place.

I agree though it's incredibly important in regards to wins, but you have to imagine it has a great impact on your pitchers psyche. Especially if you have a young group it's always good to get a good group of defenders behind them.

The #Orioles have acquired P Joe Blanton from the #Phillies in exchange for two minor leaguers. Blanton expected to start Fri. in Tampa Bay.

Ya you say that and then you turn into the Rays, where it's all pitching and defense but nobody can put the bat on the ball lol. I agree though it's incredibly important in regards to wins, but you have to imagine it has a great impact on your pitchers psyche. Especially if you have a young group it's always good to get a good group of defenders behind them.

The part about the young pitchers rings especially true. Not that I want to see the offense disappear, and I think adding Headley provides more pop to the order, in addition to defense. Sadly, it looks as though the Padres are looking to hold off on a trade to the off-season, which is understandable given his age and the sudden interest.
