Prado signs a four year deal with the DBacks worth 40 million
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

      Interesting thought.

        Halfway point

Turns out, Chris Johnson has been the best player in this trade with 1.3 WAR and a .332/.375/.485 line. And not even the worst defense at third in his division (THANKS RYAN)

Justin Upton with 1.2 WAR and a .243/.347/.437. OPSing the lowest since 2007, though his ISO and wRCC+ is still pretty good. I find it curious that his Z Contact % is 75%, a full 10 percent lower than last year and lower than it's been the last 3 year.

He's late on even average fastballs. Not sure why, but he's been missing his typical Sheffield-esque bat speed since mid-April. Fangraphs ran a study that said he saw the most significant decrease in bat speed in the majors this year. I wonder if he's playing through an oblique or back injury, because I can't think of any other reason why his best attribute would disappear 3 weeks into what was looking like a career year.

Anyway just bought low on him in our VSN keeper league so hopefully we can make fun of Pete like Kevin Towers soon.

Sold high on Kipnis is more like it. Nice job talking him up in the chatbox for two weeks.

Gave up on Tat Latos, you will rue the day, guy is a front line stud in the making, but overall #nice #haul with Profar lottery ticket.

Less than 0 chance Josh Johnson returns to being equal to Latos, not likely, but not impossible, so yeah worth a shot. Classic buy-low/sell-high deal with some lotto tickets attached. #solidbaseballtrade

                Here is my thang...

Kipnis is going to be a regular Top 5 2B'r in fantasy. Two full years...its looking like two straight years of being Top 5 at his position, with spurts of being a legit top guy (I'm curious how he closes this season, as last year, he dragged ass a bit late).

Upton is very good, but he walks a fine line between being a great outfielder in fantasy and a JAG. He's only 25, but he's got himself quite the mixture of great seasons and mediocre seasons in him...if he either finds a consistency between great and JAG...good, otherwise, ol boy might be a headache. Personally, Kipnis for Upton, right now...would be a push at best. If you aren't a great OF'r, you are kind of a dime a dozen in fantasy.

Latos is a very good fantasy starting pitcher, and Johnson is a bum until otherwise noted. He hasn't been a legit stud since 2010 considering the injuries and shit seasons he's had.

Profar is as good of a fantasy lotto ticket as you can get right now.

2-6 with two doubles today and the game winning RIBEYES. Team went 26 batters without a hit in between his game tying sac fly in the 6th and his go ahead two run double down the line in the 14th.

Ignoring his monthly long power outage and strike out woes for a second, he's still been a pretty useful player.

.343 wOBA, 117 wRC+ ... you can live with that, it's just disappointing by his standards.

Yasiel Puig has 7 more hits than BJ Upton in 165 less plate appearances.
