Great look at why MIN and NYM should sell high on their closers now.

Glen Perkins has, somewhat quietly, become a dominating relief pitcher. He currently sits 5th among qualified relievers in FIP (1.84), 4th in xFIP (2.21), and he has 14 shutdowns against just two…

Carlos Martinez gets called up again from AAA, to help a tired bullpen.

Would love to see him start as the #5 guy after the break, but with Chris Carpenter starting Monday on a rehab assignment at AA Springfield, it looks like they're banking on him to fill out the rotation.

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you

Buncha Dodgers fans are mad because Puig isn't going to be an All-star. LA radio is retarded.

Not one mention of Hanley Ramirez being the hottest hitter in baseball.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig brushed off a question about “playing with arrogance” Thursday, saying he plays the way he does for the fans.

"I learned to play that way as a kid," said Puig, who drew the ire of several members of the Arizona Diamondbacks during a three-game series earlier this week. "I always like to play aggressive and always try to put on a show for the fans. They [the fans] come to spend their time and lose sleep watching us play. It is one, to me, of the more emotional things in baseball."
More reasons to like this guy.

If you combined the Yankees' infield with the Dodgers' outfield, you'd have the All DL team

Only one Dodgers outfielder is on the DL. Your joke is about a month late.

Crawford may as well be on the DL.

As a Mets fan...I'm all for trading Parnell if it can land us a nice young SP prospect or even better, a nice young bat. Not elite, as I can curb my enthusiasm, but something decent.

I think the Puig thing will blow over in time, everyone hated Harper when he first came up as well(Coal Hamels lol). Apparently he doesn't look anyone in the media in the eye so he'll have to learn to trust people a little more, and the language barrier doesn't help that. Some of these guys don't ever learn the language and I don't know why. Yunel Escobar did a post game interview a few days ago and he still needed a translator, then on the opposite side of the spectrum Yoenis apparently started learning it as soon as he got to Oakland. I don't think Vladdy ever learned either.

Didn't Vlad live with his mom & her home cooking for a good chunk of his MLB career?

The Chosen One gets tossed. LULz, Dan Haren goes six, doesn't give up a run, and the Nationals still lose.
