Because Hamilton still plays with the Rangers apparently.

Votto's two AB's with Hamilton in scoring position from yesterday, and a microcosm of what he faces from pitchers day to day:

In the first AB, the Cards were trying to pitch around him, and accidentally struck him out.

In the two AB's he saw 10 total pitches, saw maybe one strike, and took one swing. He walked once, and should have walked 1 1/2 times the other AB.

            Swing more, herp derp.

Yea, so interesting pitch tracking and analysis, but the guy is a career .314 hitter and hasn't failed to hit .300 or better over the course of a season since 2008. Pretty sure he should stick with what has been working for him.

Jim Johnson is out as the A's closer.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

And since it's been like over 12 hours since Nahste posted something about the Braves, here:

Replay showed TDA was safe but still an amazing play.

I knew that would happen. I was calling for Hunter to take over for Johnson last season after his June meltdown. He's lost movement on his sinker and also kept leaving it hanging, both signs for disaster. I'm surprised it happened this quickly, but I am glad that we aren't the ones paying $10 million right now.

Mets playing the Angels in LA this weekend, their first time since Omar Minaya hopped on a plane, flew to LA, went to the team hotel & fired Willie Randolph & Rick Petersen after a game at midnight local time.
