Let's be honest for a second

The Yankees aren't making the playoffs. Does it really matter where he hits?
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

I think they have a shot in the AL east. Unless Toronto proves otherwise they won't keep healthy enough to win all year. No 1 else in the east has been consistent enough as well.

I don't know what's better, that throw or Vladimir Guerrero throwing out Luis Castillo while with the Expos

Don't look now but the Nats are starting to pull away in the East.

What is going on with the Tigers!? They were the best team record wise for a while now everyone in the Central is on their heels.

Okay, I'm pretty sure Cespedes is doing this on purpose. It's his scheme to win a GG. He flubs routine plays and then throws them out to get on SportsCenter.

The rest of the teams in the Central are not scrubs, they've all been rebuilding their rosters to make runs when the Tigers were getting up there in age. Their defense on the left side is once again atrocious, the bullpen is once again shaky- Joe Nathan was not a solution for the back end of their pen. Verlander also looks very human this year, and the starters are averaging slightly over 6 innings per start with the shaky bullpen behind them.

Detroit is still a good team, as they are still ahead of the much younger teams in the Central, but to not give each of those teams credit for playing well, especially Minnesota, is doing them a disservice.

He finally has the slider working and has the confidence to spot his fastball. His change up is so good it's almost not even a change- it looks more like a splitter than anything else.

Also think the Wild-Thing glasses have helped him.

I really hope that the Orioles hitters continue this patient approach. It's nice to see them not swinging at the first two pitches for a change.
