Frankly I don't think Cleveland HAS to make a trade right now... they've got a good team and once they get Mo back they will be even better.

I believe the idea behind the trade it to keep Lebron James and adding a player of Stoudemire's status would work in their favor. If you have a chance to get Stoiudemire for basically nothing of any real value to your team you have to do it. The probem with keeping the team the way it is, is what happens if the team doesn't win a championship? You'd have to make moves anyways. This team goes as LeBron goes and because of that LeBron cant afford to have an off night and part of the thought is Stoudemire could change that while taking some of the pressure of LeBron.

That's true, but this isn't a move to simply win games, because as it is they could probably make it to the ECF. The problem is that LeBron by not committing to anything has the team by the balls, so they're scared to not make moves to improve the team long term. Buck3ye5 is the reason a lot of Ohio State/Cleveland fans get a bad rap. Complete homerism like this doesn't bode well for people who already have to defend their stance on their favorite team. That being said, onto the trade.

Shaq has been getting better and playing better as the season has progressed, is it him fitting into a role, getting into better shape, just needed the first half to get going? That remains to be seen as the second half has yet to be played. The issue is just how durable is Shaq. You guys are mentioning all these other centers who are outplaying him, and yet he's twice their age. Of course the big man is going to have trouble keeping up.

I'm not defending Shaq's play because it has been atrocious through most of this season, but he is there for one reason and that's to occupy bigs so Z/Andy/J.J. are not getting out muscled and burnt. To think that Dwight Howard didn't have an effect during the Orlando series is asinine. All of what Orlando did centered around Dwights will to impose himself anyway he wanted down low. Cleveland failed to defend the perimeter, and failed to defend the pick and roll being preoccupied with Dwight. So they went out there and got the "plug" to their "leak" on defense.

As it stands now, I like where Cleveland is at with their roster and it'd be a shame to sacrifice this chemistry for anything less then Amare. Personally when I look at the pieces involved (Amare, Jamison, Murphy, Maggette) the only one I like is Amare followed closely by Murphy. Cleveland doesn't have to make a move now to be effective but as others have said, if you can get something big for cheap, you take the deal.

My HS is a combo of 2 towns and the other town gets all the love (for playing time). And I'm not the only player that has quit. My HS team was good until this year, and now we suck, because most of the players quit. The coaches and the system suck. My fucking rec basketball team could fuck up my HS team.
