lol, they just got Melo and Billups a little over a month ago during a season. If u didn't see this coming then... They gave away pretty much half of their team. This deal was for the future not for this season. The ny daily news is crap.

Long term it's still a great move, but short term they gutted their team and rendered their coach useless. (Not that there's a problem with gutting a .500 team to remain .500.) With a new coach and some added pieces in the offseason, the Knicks will be able to make noise. LOL at comparing Melo to Marbury though, that's why I don't read the Daily News.

I'm confident they'll come out of the lull on the court eventually. My fear is Dolan gets rid of Walsh and brings in the fuckhead who shall not be named. Plus with the salary cap likely crashing down, they may not have enough money to go out and get a legit center which would open up this team like you wouldn't believe.

But still, I expect better than this shit. Where's the effort on defense? Is D'Amdummy holding these fools accountable?

Billups had some interesting comments about Melo after the game. He basically said a motivated Melo is probably the best player in the league (which I disagree with). He said you could tell Melo wanted to win the game against Orlando. Its too bad Melo isn't motivated to win more games though. I guess this is what separates the really good players from the great ones.

Let's see this same effort against the Nets and Cavs.

Melo needs to take that attitude where he hustles and then trolls guys defending him like he did to Jason Richardson.

I've heard NBA TV talkies say Melo is potentially (when he's at his best) is one of the best scorers in the game.

Best overall player? Even I would say he takes a back seat to the obvious guys until he can consistently show some semblance of defense.

This should just raise red flags for Knicks fans. When your star players needs to be MOTIVATE HIMSELF to get his its a real problem. Melo should've been motivated by the entire situations hes in.. it shouldnt take the team going to shit for him to "turn it on". Thats what separates the stars from the superstars IMO.

The reffing down the stretch and in OT last nite was absolutely terrible. Continuing NBA trend.

You know Stan Van Gundy wants to say something, but he's already pissed off Emperor Stern.

Well, the first half against the Nets was spent with the Knicks playing no defense whatsoever. Apparently, Billups and perhaps others lit into the team's play at halftime and they come out to play actual defense in the third. They tie it up in the 4th and WIN!

Those beastly Cavs are coming up though.
