Dwight Howard Will Enter Free Agency ()

Howard told NBA.com he will not sign an extension with Orlando, as most expected he wouldn't.

    From rotoworld

Dwight Howard told NBA.com that he will definitely become a free agent rather than sign an extension with Orlando.
Howard expressed his desire to stay in Orlando, but stressed the importance that he wants to see the team win a championship before putting pen to paper and signing an extension to remain with the team. That means he'll opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent after next season. Similar to the LeBron James in Cleveland situation, the pressure is now on the Magic to deliver Howard the players he needs.

I don't like it when players say stuff like this, because the reality of them winning a championship is very, very, very slim. If you want out just be like Carmello Anthony and say it. Howard is one of those guys who wants to be liked, but he has to realize that if/when he leaves Orlando he won't be. Its just part of it, accept it and move on.

Orlando made a lot of risky moves to get this team over the hump only for them to get worse. People thought the Rahard Lewis contract was bad, then they go and trade for Arenas and a declining Turkoglu. At this point I'm not sure if they'd be a top 5 team in the east next year. How

Kidd said he'd like to play for a few more years.

One writer was already suggesting the Heat move one of the big 3 and get Howard.

Exactly. He's seen multiple stars switch teams, it's obvious there's a smart and stupid way to go about doing it.

He trying to be a Melo or Bron?

This. I wish they wouldn't have done either trade last year. The team was in a slump and Otis overreacted and made 2 dumb deals. Unless he can pull some shit out of his ass, Orlando will be right back in the lottery hunt in a couple of years.
