Well, not surprised. This UGA team is just not that good as expected. Two senior guards, a very young frontcourt that can't rebound and McD AA Caldwell-Pope, about sums it up. What really hurts this team is that there is almost no junior class due to the coaching change 3 years ago. Only one real junior player and he was a last minute grab just for numbers.
Disappointing thing is after this year and the two senior guards depart, this team will most likely get even worse. At least two years away from a possible NIT appearance, depending on what happens on the recruiting side.
We've already seen what Mark Fox can do when he gets two years to recruit the HS juniors and getting them to come to Athens, of course no one is expecting a Caldwell-Pope every year. But the HS talent is so deep in the state that he just needs to build this program back up with better young talent.Comment

Robert Morris 82, James Madison 77
Velton Jones is a fucking stud. That is all. A career-high 38 points for the junior guard.
RMU will travel back to Philly to face a La Salle squad on Friday who almost beat Pitt last night.

Georgetown goes 2-1 @ Maui, and is 4-1 overall with a win over Memphis and a very close game against Kansas. They look much better than I thought they would be. Freshman Otto Porter is the real deal, and this is the best bench the Hoyas have had since the Final Four team that had Pat Ewing Jr, Vernon Macklin, Jeremiah Rivres, etc.
This Hoya team has a ton of length, plays lock down D, and can hit the three. They are a bit soft down low (Henry Sims is softer than bread) and have problems stopping the break and big physical front court players. I didn't know what to think of this team preseason, but now I think they are a sure fire tournament team and can play with anyone. Great job by JT3 reloading the squad after Wright/Freeman graduated.Comment
